      A&W was founded on June 20, 1919 in Lodi, California
      A&W was opened in Canada in 1956 in Winnipeg Manitoba.
      The current A&W Canada is Canadian. The American chain did expand to Canada in 1956, but they did operate mostly separately in the years after. Unilever bought the A&W Canadian operations in 1972. But in 1995 the local Canadian management team with investors bought A&W back. In 2000 the management team bought out the investors, then making A&W Canada 100% Canadian which it has been since.

      Agreed! Thanks for the idea. I've not yet tried their coffee but I'm sure it wouldn't be worse than Rotten Ronnie's. Plus, A&W is Canadian, and their burgers are much better, and they have onion rings!
