you should already know that its not a road/mtn bike when you are looking for a 2500$+ bike.

The title is fine as it is

There are actual road bikes worth $2500. My buddy bought one of those fancy electric bikes with all sorts of features built in that cost about that much, and he kindly let me ride it.

But I actually knew what a Peleton was prior to opening thread

    • Just so you guys know $2500 buys you an intermediate level road bike with a Shimano 105.

    • I would personally go for the 5000+ roadie's.

Not everyone is like you that buys bikes off Craigslist and Kijiji.

There are very many bikes that are above $2500. If I didn't know what Peloton was, I might have thought it was a road bike.

    • Will be interesting to see if Black Friday lowers the price further on the older bikes or at least includes the accessories package for that price

I know people that spend that much just on the wheels for their bikes!

Not yet. It might take a while. These things are helping people not die by keeping them fit and healthy.

    • How many people ride $2000+ bikes and don't know a peloton bike is though? I imagine most do.

    • The new features like the rotating screen (which i always thought was a planned design flaw in the current bike) and the auto resistance would definitely be nice to have but not essential.

Had the bike since December (got one 2nd hand after much resistance and why don't we just DIY it) and love it and all the other programs it comes with.
Instructors and user experience are part of what you are paying for.

If you want to be a lycra clad road racer there are better revelation options. If you want to be motivated and engaged at home this is for you.
Perfect for a cold covid winter

    • A little off topic...with Apple Fitness+ (kind of competes with Peloton)....what is an exercise bike that is comparable to Peloton...without the screen attached, etc?

      Thanks!

I think once we have a calmer covid, where people actually go out more, this would die down abit.

Alot are couped up at home and this keeps their sanity intact due to all the unnecessary 2 hr zoom meetings.

People will prob hit the tracks once we settle in for a new normal.

    • I’ve jumped on the bandwagon considering winter is coming and COVID-19 numbers are going up. There is no way I’m going to the gym or public spin classes. At $30 a class, the bike will pay itself off very quickly, especially since the one membership is shared with up to 6 household members.
