    • I'll wait for it to come on Disney+.... that's how I feel about Marvel movies, and superhero ones overall these days. It's become redundant with the same quirky banter, and the stakes always feel superficial.

    • The plots and subplots were idiotic on so many levels. You would need to watch this movie like you watch F&F in order to enjoy it. So hard thumb down.

ALso the costumes looked so fake and plastic to me. And it is not like the movie did not have a budget. That just tells you it is about the crew more than the budget. Marvel is moving to satisfy kids , more than adults.
Dunno how it was rated G in Quebec as a few kids I was with were scared... along w/ some of the colorful language used.
Slightly better than Dark World but not as good as the original and Ragnorok.

Felt like the movie was made in Canada as everyone involved had some legal canadian weed before filming each day

    • You call it a silly moment but for me it was a stupid moment. Those scared kids all of became some warriors and of course no one died. The movie made no sense whatsoever.
Oh and Zeuses thunderbolt, they dedicated a part of the movie to something that is useless

    • This movie had to rank below Dark World of all the four Thor movies.

Christian Bale was great and even Natalie Portman as Jane/Thor.
Thor was so goofy in this movie.

The scene that kills me the most was Thor surrounded by the children bestowed them powers and they all attacked the shadow monsters. That was by far the silliest thing in comic book movies.
Makes you wonder why he didn't do this in earlier movies, just like why didn't Stark just give everyone iron man suits.

At first I thought it maybe was because they were children of Asgard, but they clearly made it known that there were kids from other species there as well. Also, it's one thing for humans to allow the Asgards to set up a new home on Earth, but when did they allow other beings? I imagine there must be unease as at this very moment on Earth overseas in the USA, they have DODC (United States Department of Damage Control) who are tagging and keeping tabs on those with abilities with the USA.

    • Right on. But why make them like nonsense cringe cheese movies .
Only kids can answer that. But they get it cause they love it!

    • They need those kids when they become adults in 10yrs. While some/most adults now will be dead or dying and can't make it to theaters!

    • Also the principle of Eternity and the wish granting only raised one question for me. If this is true, surely Thanos should have known about it. And, if he did know about it, instead of doing all the foolishness about getting the Infinity Stones, why didn't he just go to Eternity after he had the Space stone, make his wish (as he would then be the first) and be done with it? lol
That was my thought exactly while watching. And Eternity granting a single wish to anyone who got to him also seemed silly.

    • I enjoyed it but maybe I'm just too much of a fan of Taika's style. Usually a fan of most of his movies. It definitely felt different compared to the other superhero films though.

    • The jokes were funny but I agree Thor Love & Thunder tried too hard to be camp whereas Ragnarok managed to have a good balance.
The wish concept does kind of plug holes into lots of previous MCU movies cause that McGuffin could've been used on so many plot points lol

    • I liked the movie but I felt the whole "gods conference" thing was stupid and rinky dink. I got that they were trying to show the "Gods" had become lazy and indulgent, just sitting on their asses, etc. but honestly it just made them look lame and childish and would have been overthrown in their own "ruling lands" ages ago, the way they were getting on.

I felt the ending was really good. So basically the beginning and end, fine; the middle parts, not so much.

    • I honestly don't think this movie really "worked" and it kind of feels like they completely wasted Gorr as a character. The whole sequence on that small planet in black and white was far and away the best part of the movie, and actually showed how terrifyingly powerful Gorr *could* be. Incoincidentally that was also the part with the fewest jokes or wisecracks.

If they pulled off an entire movie like that it probably would be the greatest MCU movie.

Also yeah as it stands this whole phase feels aimless at this time. They still haven't done a single other thing in reference to Kang or the Celestials (despite two of them cameo-ing in this movie, and with that statue at the end) since the Loki series and the Eternals movie.

And now we're getting Hercules thrown into this too? 😂

    • Plugging the movie last night on Colbert we get a tiny bit about his upcoming STAR WARS movie.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsUvPdUOsX0
I honestly don't know how I feel about Taika doing a star wars film in his usual goofy comedy style.

I realize star wars has always been somewhat campy, but I wasn't a fan of the franchise until The Mandalorian.

    • Meh, it was okay.
For sure it was fun as maybe a standalone, but in the larger scheme of the MCU, not sure where & how it fits. Now we're dealing with a war with the gods on top of the multi-universe trans-dimensional set-up? Seems like it's the show Stargate where multiple gods (aliens) interfered in Earth & human development? I can't figure out what direction or end-game phase IV-VI is going at this point. It feels more like Disney is just throwing things at the story board and seeing what sticks.

If they don't have a movie soon connecting the dots, then ???

I have to agree. We knew it was going to be tough to reach the heights of Ragnarok but this fell far short.

    • I liked it. Words that come to mind: camp, funny, audacious, and polarizing. Marvel really gave Taika free reign to make this movie his and it shows. “Hyperstylized and abstract” is one apt description.
I can see fans hating this, but I enjoyed it for the fun ride. Also if they do a complete reboot of Harry potter they need to lock in Bale because he’s a dead ringer for Voldemort. So good. Also hope all the material that reportedly was cut will show up in an extended cut or deleted scene release.

Two end credit scenes, and a touching one at that.

I thought most of the power is magical anyway since Bro Thor still seemed powerful (OTOH he was bested by Thanos in Endgame)

    • You can see the motion capture dots on Natalie Portman's arms in that behind-the-scenes trailer.

She looks well toned, but not as bulky as in the prior trailers, so it's pretty clear they've augmented her arms via CG. Nothing wrong with that, but I had been wondering about that.

It's my gripe w/ the local cineplex. Little to no 'regular' viewings. Multiple showing of VIP, D-Box, 4ADX, 3D etc.
Was hoping they'd add more due to Thor's popularity. No eager to spending a weekend afternoon in the cinema.
