Vengeance is one click away at Best Buy, where The Batman is now available to pre-order in Canada, including the limited-edition SteelBook.

The Best Buy-exclusive SteelBook is a highly sought-after item for collectors and Bat-fans, as it comes in a metal case with exclusive artwork depicting a silhouette of Batman outlined by The Riddler's signature question mark. The item sold out quickly after it was first listed, but has come back in stock as of April 20.

Originally released in theatres on March 4, The Batman is the latest movie in the Batman film franchise, set during Batman's second year of crime-fighting. In the movie, Batman investigates The Riddler – a serial killer who leaves riddles at the scenes of his crimes to taunt police. Working alongside Jim Gordon, Batman must use his detective skills to unravel the mystery behind The Riddler before he can eliminate his next target – Bruce Wayne.

The Batman has received excellent reviews, with praise for its tone, storytelling and emphasis on Batman's detective abilities. Robert Pattinson stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman and is joined by Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

Pre-orders will ship starting May 24 and Best Buy offers free shipping with orders over $35.00 (excluding oversized items) and free in-store/curbside pick-up with no minimum.

    • Everytime I order a steel book from best buy it always arrives damaged . More common is a slash on the spine. So annoying especially when they are charging a premium for it.

      this is def a common complaint. what i've been doing lately is ordering 2 copies (same order) and hope one arrives ok. then i return the other.

    • I know there’s a huge fan base for steelbooks but I want to be sold with something more… like I want some sort of collector’s edition, unique box, maybe some merch. Am I the only one that thinks like this?

    • I would also put in a preoder on this listing on Amazon.ca, just in case it is in fact *also* a steelbook, because it'll likely be the superior cover art matching Amazon.it.

      You can get that stuff, from other companies that sell movies.

      The difference being of course that it costs significantly more money.

      amazon's price is at steelbook levels but i think that's just a placeholder. best buy usually has exclusive steelbook rights to these new films in canada at least.

      Yeah, companies like Zavvi and other foreign companies will sometimes have unique Steelbooks. It gets pricey though as it's a niche market.

      Good find, OP! These BB Steelbooks always sell out ASAP. I didn't like the movie enough to buy it, but good luck to everyone else.

      This one doesn't have the "(Only at Best Buy)" disclaimer in the product listing and $44.99 is a little too on-the-nose of a price even given Amazon always inflating new product listings.

      If it doesn't end up being a steelbook I wouldn't be surprised, but since it's only a preorder there's no reason not to.

      It is also coming out next Monday on HBO Max so you will be able to get it from an "alternate" source if BD too expensive for you...

      Somewhat related, I got my Spider-Man: No Way Home steelbook in the mail today from Best Buy and it came in a box about 20 times bigger than it needed to be and without any packing materials. Luckily it didn't get dinged up. I guess this is better than being sent in a bubble mailer though.
