    • It's a streaming service only available on some high end Sony TV models. It's basically a way to stream high quality 4k content (around 80 Mbps). I believe it's also free, but don't quote me on this.
Ok, seems like it's free for 2021/2022 Model of Sony TVs. Low end get 12 months, high end get 24 months. Plus you get to spend credits on "purchase" lossless movies but it's more of a long term rental since you only own it until 2026.

Seems like they are going after the higher end crowd. Not sure if they can drum up enough business for other studio to join them as Sony TV only have 10% market share, they need to release to other platforms.

    • I too just finally watched it at home and I too think it might of been the weakest of his 3 solo movies. The action was pretty great but it was my first movie of his that wasn’t released on 3D for me to watch first. I avoided the theatres because Covid and all, but watched the 4K/Atmos disc at home on my projector setup (JVC NX7/106”) The last movie was so great because of the amazing immersive 3D elements they did, especially with Mysterio and his illusions. Thankfully an Australian company (Random House Media) got ahold of the 3D rights and will have a Region 2 locked disc coming in July/August. Thankfully I have a region free player to enjoy that disc and should be interesting to see if my enjoyment changes with a 3D viewing at home. I think I also didn’t enjoy the how they ended the movie as well, but it is classic Spider-Man stuff too. Liked the nods to past films with repeats of their favourite/iconic character lines. Again, something just didn’t click right for me but I was also fasting for a medical appointment. So maybe I was a little hangry watching it too.
I watched into the spider verse a few weeks after I watched No way home and I found the cartoon to be amazing. That's the feeling you should have for a movie.

i think No way home didn't click right bc it kinda sucks around the window dressing.

    • Finally got around to watching it.
I can't say i liked that ending. I mean I understand Sony wants to take back the property for themselves after their partnership with Disney, but I hate they just basically pressed the reset button after having Spider-Man in 6 MCU appearances. 🖕
Tom Holland should have one more MCU appearance left in contract. There's also that Freshman Year series coming to Disney+.

    • It was ok for a gimmick movie. Bring in the other two spidermans and have the aunt die instead of the uncle. Actually uncle Ben was never mentioned in Toms Spiderman time line. And then the reset for the next movie to keep it interesting. Surprised that Sony did push for Miles Spiderman to be introduced in this movie that would of been epic.
They sort of hinted at it with the dialogue between Fox/Electro and Peter, i dont recall the exact verbiage but it was long the lines of how Electro thought Peter would be black and that there has to be a "black" Spiderman out there.

    • ok, so I'm not the only one that was a bit underwhelmed. It was a great gimmick, and kept my interest, but I have to agree about common sense, the characters needed to exhibit more of it.
As fun as it was in theater, it's not quite rewatchable at home. Like 6th sense.

    • I dont get all the love for no way home.

The movie seems to be made for the threads where people discuss "what movie could have ended earlier (if the characters had common sense)". I get that he's playing a teenager but Tom Holland's Spiderman never does anything that makes sense so it's hard for me (old guy) to root for him.

I think it's one of the weakest marvel movies.
I don't know about weakest because there's been some pretty terrible ones recently like Black Widow and Venom but it's just a very average film leaning heavily on nostalgia and "remember this?!" moments that apparently make some people lose their minds . I enjoyed the handful of cool action scenes but otherwise it's one of the most annoyingly written and poorly acted films I've seen all year. It reminded me of Ready Player One with how obnoxious it is in shoving old references and nostalgia down your throat and just generally being a grade school quality written CGI fest.

Oof I already forgot how poorly executed and acted that death was. It's crazy because Jon Favreau is right there and anytime he was on screen I kept thinking how much better this movie could be if he wrote it.

    • Uncle Ben and Oscorp do not exist in Tom Holland's Spider-man timeline.
Dafoe steals the show as the main villain in all the Spider-man movies.

After rewatching all of them on 4K HDR blu-ray (No Way Home on iTunes 4k).
Dafoe does the best job acting, and Lizard man is easily the worst casting choice and most boring villain.

My rankings of the Spider-Man movies:

      1 Spider-Man No Way Home
      2. Spider-Man 2
      3. Spider-Man 1
      4. Spider-Man 3 (found this one more entertaining than 2 on re-watch despite its flaws)
      5. Amazing Spider-Man 2
      6. Spider-Man Far From Home
      7. Amazing Spider-Man
      8. Spider-Man Homecoming
      9. Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse

    • Gotta stop reading movie reviews.

SMNWH was so hyped up that I was kind of disappointed with the movie. Felt prior film was way better, but hey we all have our opinions.

Came across as more of a whining kid then a superhero like in Far From Home.
Yeah, you probably ruined it yourself by reading too much into the hype.

I knew all the spoilers and mostly avoided the hype and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Definitely more than the first two films. Really looking forward to the next one because the final spidey suit is just so perfect.

    • ^ I definitely see MJ in the next movie if Zendaya and Tom Holland remain a couple in real life. Right now they are one of Hollywood's young power couples that fans are rooting for. Breakups can complicate things and their producer Amy Pascal advised them not to get romantically involved. She saw what happened when both Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone started dating the SPIDER-MAN actors Tobey and Andrew.

    • I looked up all the spoilers before the movie came out and finally watched the film. Still really enjoyed it. The movie looked amazing on my OLED TV. And that's just streaming 4K. Can't wait to buy the physical release and do a rewatch, hopefully with better sound system by then.

Curious if sony will still do MJ in the next movie, or if they will bring in Felicia Hardy or Gwen Stacy. Personally, would rather see Felicia / Blackcat.

I will also pick up the 4k UHD Blu-ray on April 12th.

So I bought this through Google Play / YouTube.

How do I watch the extras? Articles say to links with Movies Anywhere, but it's US only

    • You must make yourself curious all the time then...

Newsflash: Uh yes it was, there was nothing special about it, something you seem quite oblivious to, specially with that moronic fort knox comment...
What is unique about this is the timeline of the leak.
It happened much much earlier, and pretty much forced the mouse house to advance their streaming date.
That you believe this is the case all the time is a testament to your, I assume, limited ability to notice distinctions.

    • How many freaking reboots do they have, I've lost count. Spider-man must be the most rebooted superhero. I couldn't be bothered to watch any post-Tobey since it's too soon and the same thing. Even for free I still haven't bothered to view them.
LOL... 20 years is "too soon"..? Riiiiite... Plus, as a die-hard Spider-Man fan from the 80s, Tobey's films made me throw up and sell the Blu-rays I had purchased prior to watching. They suck big time...

    • Anyway, a terrific movie. An exceedingly rare movie where 99% of it worked amazingly well and did not feel "crowded" at all despite the large number of characters. Probably my favorite Marvel movie to date.
