    • Depending on what rumours you read, Paramount is about to go under or get absorbed somewhere else. Certainly it dumped a bunch of shows last week. In the US, it's now merged with Showtime.

The 3-months-for-half-price deal is good, because it's hard to tell if this version is going to be around in a few months.

I'm hoping it keeps being the home of Star Trek, because right now, you can't stream any of the ST movies in Canada, and all the STs on Crave say they are going away in a couple of weeks. So maybe all the STs will be on Paramount again? Or maybe not if it's going to be merged or sold off elsewhere?

    • Meaning you subscribe directly to the Paramount + app , did it require a US address and payment method? (Peacock does )
Yeah it required a US based iTunes account to subscribe. And I used a US credit card.

    • They would be a lot smarter to move all their Star Trek IPs away from other streaming services like Netflix and Crave to increase their own appeal.
Crave will “phase out” Star Trek content as of August 1st

"The one exception is Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which is currently running its second season. Bell Media has confirmed that Strange New Worlds will be available to stream on Crave until the fall."

    • Paramount+ Canada sucked in December. Hoping it is better now.

US VPN doesn't cure the lack of content.

      Thanks Kate/OP.

    • Prime Video / PV channels and VPN won't work.

when the channels are integrated into prime video , vs a standalone app on Fire OS, or any other os, you can only access inside Prime Video and as Prime video channels.

Therefore a vpn will not work. Your Amazon billing method address determines everything.

If on the other hand you subscribe separately to an app (disney+ , for example) set vpn to USA and you'll see fewer options inside Disney+

National geographic or Star or both will be missing , (part of Hulu) Outside usa those are included with Disney+ where Hulu isn't offered .

Had this issue with britbox before. Couldn't log in to it anywhere and it wouldn't respond to vpn location because it was part of Prime Video.

Even installing the app (britbox etc) separately won't get you the service 😒

That said Britbox and motortrend are fine on the Canadian library. Depending on what you want , not a issue .

You'll only need Prime Video to access services . Which can actually be a plus .

    • what is britbox

Edit: Man the UI sucks sooo bad, like why can't they make it easier to see whats included. Sorta like Disney+
Britbox is a company by BBC Worldwide and ITV worldwide . The two top UK TV services. Most of thier offerings are there for people who don't live in the UK and EU.
