NBA NBA Black Friday 2022: 50% Off NBA League Pass Streaming Plans in Canada Save 50% on NBA League Pass for Black Friday!

get this deal Black Friday

Stream unlimited hoops with NBA League Pass, where you'll save 50% on a season subscription for Black Friday.

From November 23-29, simply sign up for a season-long NBA League Pass subscription and use the promo code HOOPS50 at checkout to apply the Black Friday discount.

NOTE: NBA League Pass games are subject to regional blackout restrictions. In Canada, that means all Toronto Raptors games are not available to stream live if you access the service with a Canadian IP address (archived Raptors games are available on-demand). However, using a VPN to access the service will work around this restriction (your mileage may vary).

NBA League Pass is a sports streaming service with live and on-demand access to every NBA basketball game this season, along with 24/7 coverage of NBA TV.

For reference, the regular price for NBA League Pass is $19.99 per month and Black Friday is usually the best bang for your buck deal for the service every year – the service is also discounted towards the end of the regular season when there are very few games remaining.

This offer is effective online until November 29 and NBA League Pass is supported on several platforms including desktop and mobile browsers, Android, iOS, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and more.

    • This is how im getting the bkacedout games:

      - Connect to Indonesia vpn
      - Open NBA App, select the game and play it
      - NBA App will give an error and ask you if you want to retry.
      - Go back to the VPN and disconnect
      - Back to NBA App and click retry

I know is a pita procedure, but it works every time, no lag

      Hope this helps.

thanks for this info - are you running the nba app on firestick with nordvpn?

yah man canada and their rules are pathetic. they are so backwards. all money grabs. literally holding on for dear life with these rules. I have cable and its about 45 a month. and i get to watch all the raps, nfl, hockey, etc. I use the shaw app at work. so I cant complain. but for a lot of people its bullshit. not many have cable now

    • That's a hard pass for me then. No raptors game I understand but the app will blackout the other NBA games that TSN/Sportsnet plays?
Yeah it will blackout any nationally televised games. So no Warriors vs Celtics or Bucks vs 76ers or Suns vs Mavs for you. You have to watch it live on television.
    • Even with 50% off, this is not worth it. The service is blacked out for nationally televised games and games that your local cable provider is carrying (Raptors for most people here).

Nvm, was trying to purchase premium. Regular package is still $119.99 and $59.99 after discount. All good :)

    • So does it mean if I don't care for the Raptors feed ie TSN or Sportsnet, I could watch the other teams broadcast.
The app does let you choose your broadcasts between Home and Away if you use VPN (or after the game ends without VPN). I find it interesting to hear the different perspectives on players and teams. Mike Breen is good to listen to when you watch Knicks games, Marques Johnson too on Bucks games.

    • I do not know why the hell would someone even buy this, if I have to do all these shenanigans to see your home team play.
Hey, some people love to watch the Pacers, Kings, Pistons and Spurs play over and over again. For these people, NBA league pass is a bargain.

    • I had no luck with NordVPN this year. Worked in the past years but this season, could not get to work on phone, desktop or nVidia Shield. It's not worth much if I cannot watch Raptors + nationally televised games. Had to cancel subscriptions. Let me know if anyone has any advice. Im in QC using Videotron as ISP.
This is how I get mine to work on the app/chromecast
      1. Enable VPN with location spoofing
      2. Open the app and select the game to watch
      3. Allow location services just one time (this allows the streams to be selected and bypass the blackouts)
      4. Cast to Chromecast with the selected stream (it will say error)
      5. Turn off VPN
      6. Hit retry and works after that.

    • For anyone that's watching the Clippers vs Warriors, how do you do that? I tried with pretty much all cities from the US and Mexico and still wouldn't let me watch it. I'm using Nordvpn.

Are you watching it on the app? I find I have to swipe it closed so it resets. I have to turn on the VPN before I open the app

    • So does it mean if I don't care for the Raptors feed ie TSN or Sportsnet, I could watch the other teams broadcast. So if we play the nets, I'll be able to watch the bKn channel feed which would be the YES network. Right? Or because it's the Raptors, I don't get any feed Toronto's or Brooklyn's unless I have a VPN.

    • After getting into basketball this year and seeing how much a full season costs, especially with this coupon?

Jesus. It makes the ~200 dollar NHL offering look like a bag of flaming shit. Better quality video than any hockey game, it doesn't take forever to buffer up to its best quality from 120p when you start a game, and you actually get to see the commercial break events that the stadium has rather than seeing the same 3 ads the NHL app serves you every commercial break. I never wanted to not buy a GMC or Hyundai more after watching the same ads close to 15 times each.

Really makes you think what you're paying for...

    • Just VPN to India and pay $999 rupees or whatever they call them. Works out to about $20. You’ll need the vpn to watch the raps anyway may as well get the better price
Are you able to get it working this season? It seems local broadcast games are all black out even with VPN, non local broadcast games, no neee to turn on vpn at all, unlike previous seasons

    • You can watch games that have started already and you'll have VOD capabilities.

Note that this only applies to games that are already available for you to watch. Nationally televised games and games which your local broadcaster shows are exempt from this and I believe you have to wait up to 3 days to watch them.

ah I see thanks for the headsup! I'm just worried about the blackout for raptors game and playoffs -- I do have a vpn though hopefully if I sign up as canadian I can still watch raptors live

so should I sign up using nordvpn to make it look like I'm in the states when I sign up? Or try a different country _ I only have a canadian credit card though does that matter?

Or is it like..doesn't matter where you sign up from, as long as your vpn is running when you stream the games (I wanna watch raptors and all the playoff games real time!

Not confusing at all. Very easy to setup and all you need is a $35 FireTV Stick or similar device. PM me for a free trial and I’ll send you very easy to follow setup instructions.

    • OK I see. Thanks.

In terms of the resolution, it's really a mystery for me. Did a little research and it says that the NBA app streams majority of the games in 1080p. As long as it keeps this resolution and doesn't deteriorate in mid of stream, it would look sufficiently sharp if viewing from a proper distance. TSN, though, isn't explicit on their app's streaming resolution on their app (I know their cable channels do specify HD or SD and have separate channels for each). From my experience I'd say that even at their best streaming quality periods, the resolution sits between 720-1080p (it's definitely not 1080p-sharp). And I can't count on them to maintain that quality for very long before it deteriorates to horrible level.

    • For anyone doing this deal, VPN into cheaper countries and look for cheaper prices. I bought mine at the beginning of the season from Turkey. It was like 35 for the entire season. I can't imagine how cheap it's become now.

Other countries to check would be Argentina. Their currency has also plummeted.
Unfortunately, the promo doesn’t apply to Argentina, Turkey & India.

    • Does League pass cover playoff games of other teams?

      quick google has conflicting answers.
The way it actually works (without VPN) is that the games *NOT* on TV in Canada are available. I think some additional games may even be unavailable if they can be streamed through the TSN or Sportsnet app.

The NBA League Pass experience isn't that many games, unfortunately, as TSN and Sportsnet get the NBA's entire national TV schedule (along with quite a few that end up on NBA TV, too.)

*edit because this was the answer to the question* And that means zero Raptors games, zero playoff games.
