Clone Force 99 is back, as Star Wars: The Bad Batch is now streaming exclusively on Disney+!

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a new 16-episode spin-off series set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The series follows The Bad Batch, a rag-tag team of elite clone troopers, as they take on mercenary missions and come to terms with the fall of the Republic and rise of the Galactic Empire.

The series will premiere with a special 70-minute episode on Star Wars Day (May the 4th), followed by new 30-minute episodes every Friday starting May 7. Several familiar Star Wars characters will make appearances throughout the series to help (or hinder?) The Bad Batch, including fan-favourites like Captain Rex, Kanan Jarrus, Fennec Shand and more.

Sign up for Disney+ to watch every episode throughout the season for $11.99 per month or $119.99 per year. Star Wars: The Bad Batch is available to all Disney+ subscribers, with new episodes premiering every Friday.

    • Meh....i feel like this will only be interesting if it's a mini series, not stretching this out to 3 or 4 seasons. There isn't enough material to get that far with the bad batch. The show is suppose to take place after episode 3, but i feel like this show would be better if it took place during the clone wars showing them on missions during that time. Realistically the bad batch would be hunted down by the empire and fellow clone troopers who the empire used for a couple more years.

I just don't see this being necessary or interesting. There are far more interesting ideas for shows that can be made but disney seems to be in some sort of desperate situation with Star Wars, milking characters like this. This isn't really what fans would of wanted if given the choice.

    • Hopefully it turns out well. Most of my favourite Clone Wars episodes were ones that involved Jedi. I don't think I enjoyed the clone trooper only ones nearly as much. Not sure if I need a series with a bad batch of them.

On the other hand I enjoyed Rebels and Clone Wars. I'll give it a shot.

    • Well, at least Filoni is a better writer than the people who wrote the last 3 movies, so this might fill in a lot of plot holes left dangling by the films. We shall see...

    • Even though I dislike Disneys canon and I feel this show is unnecessary, it still actually looks worthwhile watching. I still enjoy the clone wars animation. To me this show is kinda like an extension of the clone wars.

I've enjoyed the TV Side of Lucasfilm. Clone Wars, Rebels, and Mandalorian (haven't tried resistance yet). It's the movie side that's inconsistent. I mostly liked Force Awakens, and really liked Rogue One. i'm iffy on the other Disney movies.

At this point it makes me more interested in expanding the Star Wars universe through TV shows rather than more movies.

Disneys canon is still crap though.

Totally agree. I can't help but wonder if one of the major problems with the movies is similar to what was rectified via the Snyder cut of Justice League. Can piss on Whedon all we want, but how on earth would Snyder have cut time to make a theatrical release had he not left the movie? With time flexibility, Snyder was able to piece together a much more enjoyable experience. I think the massive flaw with SW sequels (for which there are many besides this) is trying to do too many things in a movie time frame, resulting in all sorts of choppy superficial nonsense. No one who saw the last movie should be required to read a book in order to understand significant portions of the movie, but so it was for many threads (Lando the perv, or Lando the father). I can't help but wonder if all 3 would have significantly benefited from having extended releases (planned by design), or smaller scope scripts.

The SW shows are not such that they deliver home runs with every episode. I think fandom is much more forgiving with the fluff, when at least something awesome is served up at some point. If each movie was instead a season series, I think they could have made the stories work much better, though I concede there would always be those from fandom who would reject SW moving forward from late 70's early 80's societal values.

    • Pleasantly surprised by Kanan's cameo.

Is Omega a force sensitive clone? Interesting.

Possibly- but I also heard the theory she may have all the enhanced traits of the other clones.

According to IMDB, Freddie Prinze reprised the voice too

    • I wasn't quite sold on the bad batch after seeing them introduced in the clone wars (I was always a bigger fan of Jedi stories than clone trooper stories in the clone wars tv show). That being said, I really liked the premiere episode. It was really good. It leaves me optimistic about the rest of the series.
