    • I think the NFL is really messing up what was a good thing. They now play on almost any day of the week. Its now on a bazillion different platforms. Very sad. I have IPTV so I don’t care BUT its no wonder so many cut the chord!
Unfortunately, it's because of one answer

    • ONE GAME: 110 MILLION dollars.
You are reading correctly. For only ONE game...but it's the playoffs.

Peacock — NBC's streaming platform — to broadcast an NFL playoff game on Super Wild Card Weekend.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the two sides struck a one-year deal worth $110 million to broadcast this ONE game exclusively.

I'm not sure what this means for Canadian viewers, but Americans are furious: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/new ... xwhq3ppvxv

(Anyone know if TSN will still have access to this one game in Canada? Or...? Does it become exclusive to Stacked TV? Or...???)
This means nothing to Canadians. This only impacts the US. In Canada, a separate deal was struck to rebroadcast NFL games. Bell owns the rights and games are shown on TSN, CTV, and CTV2. DAZN owns the rights for streaming.

    • not really IMO, it's only a lot if he stinks this year and retires.

      It's a swap down 2 spots, a 2nd and 6th this year. Jets get a 5th back

Either a late 2nd or late 1st next year (because the Jets should be good)

For a 4 time MVP who won it as recently as 2 years ago.

If he was 6-8 years younger it would have cost 4 1sts.

Plus, the Pack have to pay him most of his $ too.

The cap hits to the Jets are only $15.8 million in 2023 and $32.5 million in 2024.
I guess it all depends on how well he plays and if it elevates the Jets to a SB contender. Will be fascinating to see how it unfolds.

    • That's an overpay by the Jets. If he were 6-8 years younger, it would be justifiable.

    • Rodgers to Jets trade is done per Schefter

      Jets get:
      Rodgers
      Pick #15 in 2023
      5th round 2023

      Packers get:
      2023 picks #13, #42, #207,
      2024 conditional 2nd (becomes a 1st if Rogers plays 65% of plays)

    • I'm rooting for Apostolopoulos on the tiny minute chance that he as a Torontonian moves the team to Toronto. It'll very likely never going to happen, but it does clear the first hurdle of having a Canadian owner... it also doesn't hurt that the Commanders have the lowest attendance and their stadium was ranked as the worst in the league last year. Snyder really leaving that franchise as a dumpster fire.
I remember reading about this guy. Think him and his son bought the Pontiac Silverdome years ago. He's an under the radar billionaire.

At one time, under their former name, they were one of the premier franchises in the entire league. The chances of them relocating here or anywhere else are really slim.

Would need to build a new stadium to meet the NFL's requirements, and there's also the issue of the Bills.

Like Donald Sterling before, he's about to make out like a bandit.

    • Ravens have placed the franchise on Lamar Jackson.

      https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/358 ... ar-jackson
The Ravens used the nonexclusive tag on Jackson, sources told ESPN. With the Ravens using the nonexclusive tag, Jackson can engage in contract talks with other teams. If Jackson signs an offer sheet with another team, Baltimore has the right to match the offer to keep him or take two first-round picks as compensation. The nonexclusive tag -- which will pay Jackson $32 million this season -- is less expensive than the exclusive one (projected at $45 million)
Today I learned that there are two kinds of franchise tags.
