Save on a new iPad from The Source, because they're clearing out the sixth-generation Apple iPad and you can take up to $100.00 off regular price!

Originally released in March 2018, sixth-generation iPads were discontinued with the announcement of Apple's new seventh-generation 10.2" iPad last week, but the internal specs are mostly identical, with the main differences being screen size and the addition of the Smart Connector.

Both 32GB and 128GB Wi-Fi models are discounted and for reference, pricing at The Source currently beats both Best Buy and Walmart.

In addition, all models qualify for a free one-year Apple TV+ subscription when the service launches on November 1 -- a value of $71.88!

This deal is available online and in-stores (where available) until September 30. All iPad configurations qualify for free shipping and quantities are limited, so shop quickly before stock is gone!

Which devices are eligible to receive 1 year free Apple TV+?
Any iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, or Mac purchased after September 10, 2019 and capable of running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, or macOS is eligible. Both new and older (refurbished) models purchased at an authorized retailer qualify, including devices from the iPhone Upgrade program. This offer is not restricted to any specific sales channel (e.g., Apple Store, resellers) and will be available in all countries and regions where Apple TV+ will launch.

    • If you just need a basic tablet, definitely check out Amazon's Fire, on sale for $75 for the 8", or $155 for the 10". I picked one up, it's a great option if you don't need a lot of apps or a good quality camera. It's definitely a hot fire sale.

    • Still charging too much for the small storage upgrade. I bought one of the 32GB ones last november for same price ($349). The battery is dying on it now, I need to have it replaced through Apple because unfortunately Costco only exchanges them in the first 90 days now.

If you're a Microsoft Office user, Office is free to users with screens 10.1" or smaller. It costs money to use if your screen size is larger.

We'll have to wait to see if they make an exception for the new iPads.

Not sure. iOS has always been what Apple devices operated on. Now it seems each device has its own OS name. I don’t see the point.

time will tell what the actual reason is. it might be that they want to have wildly different release cadences for phone and tablet. it could be some marketing reason. who knows, in any case there's nothing anyone can do about it, so best to not think about it

    • Apple really gimped the budget iPad this year. Was expecting it to ship with at least an A10x seen in the 2017 iPad pro.
