Game on the go with a new laptop from the Microsoft Store, because you can get a Lenovo Ideapad L340 15.6" Gaming Laptop for $849.00 (regularly $1149.00) with free shipping, for a total savings of $300.00!

This mid-range gaming laptop features a few specs not commonly found in laptops under $1000.00, including dedicated graphics, a backlit keyboard and fast NVMe storage -- for comparison, the customizing the same laptop configuration would cost $1248.75 directly from Lenovo. Other specs include:

  • 9th generation Intel Core i5-9300H processor at 2.40GHz *up to 4.10GHz)

  • Ports: 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB-C, 1 x HDMI, 1 x Ethernet, 1 x headphone/mic combo jack

    • Good price and already upvoted, but looking at the specs......
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with 4GB shared graphics memory
That doesn't really mean what it sounds like it means right??????

I'm also curious as to why they went with 2400 memory when the processor supports 2666. There can't honestly be a difference in pricing on those... if anything I'd suspect the 2666 of being slightly less expensive based on that being the go-to speed these days.

    • Anybody already buy this in Canada? According to this review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRopACNiYwY%29, the memory is a single channel 8gb stick with no empty slot for expansion. So if you want to increase, you have to replace rather than add. However, it seems that this might vary as one of the comments under that video review suggests that they received a 8gb soldered with an empty slot. Wonder if anyone can confirm?

It must be a typo, I don't believe the 1650 supports shared memory. It has 4 GB of dedicated VRAM, GDDR5.

Not really, I would get the one in the OP and add another 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB NVMe drive and it would still be at least $100 lower than the Costco model.

    • the costco model is i7, the costco one is more worth.

It won't make any difference, especially in games. Only in benchmarks.

Do I need a Costco card to purchase this Laptop?

    • Heads-up if you're considering the Costco model - it's cheaper right off the Lenovo Canada site. I just bought the 17" version with 6-core i7, SSD + HDD and 2-year warranty w/ accident coverage for $1200 all-in. And I can spread out those payments for a year.
Hope mine is the lucky model with 8gb soldered to the board, making 16gb full dual-channel! If not, the hit on Intel isn't as bad as it is for AMD, and it's an acceptable loss to gain a lappy that's nearly silent, even when gaming! (Super important to me!)

I've researched gaming laptops to death... glad I finally pulled the trigger. ;)

    • My RBC also has an offer for 50$ off $750 Microsoft store so if you're with RBC check your app for the offer and load it before ordering :)

I tried customizing the 15" on the Lenovo website to the same specs as the Costco one and it was $1,787.75.
The 17" is $1,159.99 with 8GB of ram, probably worth the $40 for another 8gb of ram at Costco.
Depends if you prefer the 15" or 17" I guess.

Whoops! I did NOT notice the 1TB SSD! That's a huge upgrade price there... Not bad after all!

If I'd known this I'd have pulled the trigger the moment this deal hit the shelves! In a way, I'm glad I hesitated... but thanks for the tip!
