    • This is an incredible price for this laptop and specs! I purchased a Zenbook 2 years ago and couldn't be happier.

    • Only 2gb on the GPU. Also it's 3 lbs instead of the standard 2.5 lbs that a lot of the Zenbooks now are. So it's neither a gaming machine nor the lightest unit to carry around. I wonder how many nits the screen has because with zenbooks that, plus the keyboard, are one of the mediocre points. I own another zenbook. For me, it's a great value proposition at around $650 all in plus Costco warranty. I don't know if I'd be sold on this unit at more than double the price.

    • Anyone know if this one has a touch screen? So hard to tell with Asus because they always have variations but they don't list which variation has which screen.

    • I was able to confirm with online chat that this has a touch screen. Look like an incredible value with the 1tb drive and 16GB of Ram.

I'm pretty sure it does, the screen is pretty bad on it though.

Of course, why else would you think it's so cheap?

That and the screen is fairly poor quality, it's dim and very grainy looking.

Oh really? Wasn't expecting that from Asus for their flagship laptop.

It's not even close to their flagship laptop.

It's an Ultrabook with nice paper specs in certain regards but many corners were cut to get it to a nice price point, Asus has much nicer laptops, BB has a similar machine without the GPU, 512GB and without the screenpad but a much better 4K screen and thunderbolt for $1300. Not to mention the Zenbook Duo which goes for over 3k and has an OLED 4K screen.

I agree it's not their best laptop, but I (perhaps mistakenly) meant flagship in the sense that it is (afaik) the most popular of their high end laptops by far. Their other high end laptops like the zenbook duo or zenbook s seem niche by comparison and I doubt they sell very well. By the way, what's BB?

I just don't think it was designed to be a flagship. It was designed to be a nice machine that is semi-affordable and Asus made choices to keep the price down. The screen is meh, the keyboard is average, supposedly battery is mediocre. The screen in the touch pad is really a dud imo, I'd personally turn it off considering I kept accidentally switching it from touchpad to screen mode due to the giant x in the corner. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad for the price but it's by no means a perfect machine.

Best Buy, lookup the UX391, which IMO is just a better laptop if the screen is important to you.

      • Currently using this laptop, got an openbox 512G version from Newegg at $1104.
      • Nothing big to complain about, upgraded to an 1 TB manually, ram is not upgradable.
      • The screen pad is innovative, but not that useful, since it's too small, I only use it as to monitor my newborn while I am working the main screen.
      • Fan noise is load, just download ASUS “QuietFan” app, it's perfect now, however, you will need if off when doing heavy work(video editing, gaming etc)
      • It is a touch screen but not support ASUS's pen.
      • Be ware there is no Thunderbolt 3 support although there is type C.
      • Can not charge via type c neither
