    • The deals have been so cold for so long with Dell Refurbished. Wish the nice 50% and almost sub $100 offers would come back!

    • When will these start coming with Windows 10? I assume they have Windows 8.1. (at least the ones I was looking at) installed since that is what that specific computer was originally licensed with.

So, if we wait long enough they should start showing up with Windows 10?

As an aside, I have bought 3 of these off lease computers and they have all been in excellent condition and worked very well.

I don't think they will ever show Windows 10 for the older models. Couldn't you upgrade to Windows 10 for free? The loophole is still there is what I keep hearing, just google it.

You should be able to just use the Windows 8 key stamped on the case and do a fresh install of Windows 10.

      Just create a Windows 10 ISO at https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/softwar ... /windows10

Assuming 5 year leases, probably in about another year.

    • I'm not usually one to care about a hard drive, but if (and I'm not saying it is) this a hot deal, $239 would be a better buy with 8GB instead of 4GB and a 128GB SSD instead of a 500GB hard drive.

I'm tempted to get one actually, but dual DP is quite a bit of WTF to me.
Good thing there's VGA at least...

      EDIT: Grade B. Grade A is $280.
I wonder how bad Grade B actually is...

    • Pretty sure any Win7/8 PC Home Premium or better can be upgraded to Win10.
I've maybe run into one (Home Standard) out of countless PCs.

If you don't have the actual key make sure to run the upgrade wizard instead.

    • Back in the day when they were dfsdirect I got a brand new alienware Aurora fully loaded desktop for about 1/3 retail. I was on the site when it came up and immediately scooped it. I never saw another aw before or since then. Now that its changed names I buy nothing there.

You must put in a SSD if you want a fast one.

It was just for me mudder to surf tha stinkin' interwebs. She ain't doin nothing else. Barely uses MS word/excel. No graphic design. No games. The power cord broke in a few months. So slow. Yes it's a 5400 rpm, 4gb but it's just for the net. Should bought a netbook but wan't some MS Office use. Thought the core i3 would be at least decent.

It's almost definitely the hard drive. Windows 10 is really slow on regular Hard Drives.
I have a desktop PC that I built a couple of years ago and it runs pretty slow (especially while opening apps and such) but the refurbished Dell (E7440) I got for mom a while ago works like a charm, just because it has an SSD.
