Not wanting to go full mikka2017 on anyone, but this would only be hot in the $150-$175 range, not $300+ as this is.

    • Refurb.io had these brand new for $488 in 2016 when I bought mine.
Outside of the 1366x768 resolution, I was quite happy with mine. It served me well for 3 years.

Battery life is going to be the most questionable thing (outside of the monitor) because SSD is easily replaceable, as is the RAM.
It's an additional cost, but SSDs are pretty cheap and you can pick whatever size you want vs getting something stupid included. Lack of SSD isn't a downside to me.
Personally I have a hard drive in mine because I have media on it.

I'm not sure I'd buy it again for $253 (also @cool5aab put the price in the title) in grade B condition, but I don't think it's ice cold. Cold maybe.
For $200 more, the Dell Inspiron 14 500 for $481 is literally twice as fast with a new battery and a half this sized SSD which I think would be worth it.
But if $200 is a hard sell, this still isn't THAT horrible.

At least this has Gigabit vs the Inspiron which has 10/100....

EDIT: If this had a 1920x1080 panel I probably wouldn't even retire it.
But that panel is ridiculous. I should look into seeing if I can stuff a replacement panel in.

    • 1. Price in title, please!
      2. DellRefurbished??? Ridicules prices, bad [short] warranty, full tax, charging for shipping.... Nothing to see there, move on...
      3. Go to refurb.io [especially when they add some extra coupon and that is almost monthly!] and you'd get the same thing: cheaper, 5% tax, free shipping, 1 year warranty, extra warranty on battery (90 days??) easy & free returns...
