Amazon brought their Fire tablets to Canada in December 2017 and this is a new historical low price for the Fire 7 tablets since their launch.

An excellent value at under $50.00, the Fire 7 is a budget-oriented tablet that is ideal for media streaming or web browsing. There are two storage capacities available and we've listed both of them below.

All Fire tablets are expandable to up to 256GB of storage via microSD, integrate with Amazon services like Prime Video and can run third-party apps through the Amazon Appstore.

This offer is effective for a limited time only and all Fire 7 tablets are eligible for free shipping.

    • Highly suggest to get Fire 8... better specs and screen.

If going to be in US then Fire 10 goes on sale regularly.

      IMHO Fire 10 > 8 >>> 7

The 7 often goes for sale in US for much less if want a disposable type of tablet.

    • I want an affordable tablet (~$100) for my son's birthday (youtube, minecraft, and netflix' kids mostly); debating on this super affordable one that i can buy 2 for younger kid too, or wait for the Fire 8 that i missed last time.

saying that, thanks very much OP for your posting.

The problem is most budget tablets have only 1GB of RAM and the Samsung have only 1.5GB.
For a decent 2GB the price jumps.
If you can do with 1GB then this tablet might do, though i don't know how powerful its processor is

      Can't trust a guy who calls Alexa "Ale-X-A"... :P
I watched the video and he makes pretty fair points about the Fire Tablet. He's not promoting it, just talking about it and the pros/cons.

I recently got 1 for my nephew then got another one for the smaller one, for the price it is not bad at all, the parental controls are super easy to set and pretty much locks down the tablet. Netflix works with the download feature so it can be used on car rides as well. For 50 bucks it a great tablet especially for younger kids 5-6

    • So whats the deal with this tablet as far as google play and custom roms? I've done a little reading and it seems that these tablets are completely locked down. Is that the case?

    • This is a decent tablet to use as a control panel for SmartThings. Just get action tiles with it

Yep. That’s what I’m doing. It’s going to replace my old alarm keypad.

Haha I picked up the fire HD 8 just for controlling my Cambridge network player. Cause the app was crap on my iPad.

    • So this super outdated tablet with Android Lollipop (WTF) is going for $45 + tax... what has the world come to. You could get something better off Aliexpress or eBay for the same price or slightly more. Or just get a cheap Windows tablet with an Atom processor, at least they're more useful than an Amazon tablet... you can find tons of them on eBay and Kijiji. I saw a Surface RT for $60 on Kijiji the other day.

I was curious about the Fire HD 8, but it's barely better. At least it has ac wifi and a 1.5 ghz processor. But 1 gig of RAM is not enough for Android unless you're using lite apps only

I agree with you. I don't understand how come they sell so many of these.
