Chat/Spoke with them after dinner time this evening.

Started with Chat, then phone call with chat agent and then talked to loyalty rep. Loyalty rep claimed
they are out of the elusive $5 credit that brings the 300/100 plan down to $40/m. Rep is supposed to call
me back at the beginning of Dec when their allotted discounts refresh and the mysterious $5 discount
      is supposed to appear again.

    • Just a data point regarding the $100 prepaid visa giftcard for new activations. Recently switched a line over to Virgin and was browsing the My Account app; saw it come up as a notification with a promo code to use. Called in and got the $40/50 Mbps with $100 prepaid visa giftcard which will arrive after 60 days.

I called in and asked about the $100 Visa pre paid giftcard. The guy told me that yes he would send one to me. I'm in ontario. I called in the next day to change my installation date and asked again about the pre paid gift card. I was told there was nothing on the account and that the offer is only available in Quebec, so I couldnt get it. I was transfered again and was told they were going to give me a $50 bill credit. I said well I was offered $100, so she then said they will give me 50 off first bill and $50 off the 2nd bill as bill credits and she would be cancelling the original order and starting a new one with the discounts. Think i got lucky if its not abailable in Ontario!??, who knows with these guys.

I agree with you about the pricing, but......

Why would I waste another hour+ going through the chat/talk/TV Service Sales Pitch
process again for $45/m when the rep will be calling me back on Thursday to process
      the switch-over from $37.50/100 to $40/300?.

Current customer. I was on 50mbps. Asked them about promos on 300mbps and they were able to upgrade me to 300mbps for the same price as 50mbps

      300mbps for $40 for 12 months can't beat that!
The live chat rep I was with said "I literally never heard of such deal"
Yeah, I had to get this deal through the loyalty department over the phone.

Chat agent called me then transferred the call over to them.

    • People are just wasting their money getting 1gb internet. Unless you have 35+ people all streaming 4K at the same time. Having 1gb isn't going to make your movie stream any faster. I can wait 60 seconds vs 5 seconds for a download for the amount of extra $$ it costs.
Yea but I pay the same amount for 1.5 fibe ;0

I was with them from Sept 2020 to Sept 2021. During that time, I have been trying to extend the deal, but they said no. Afterwards, when I called in to cancel they said they could extend, but it was too late I already signed up with Fido 150 Mbps (now that's expired as well). I have just been jumping back and forth, but I prefer Virgin Mobile cause it's more stable in my area. Hopefully in the future I'll get some Virgin / Bell FTTH deals.

Unfortunately, they couldn't offer me 300 Mbps FTTH speed at $45/month. It's either they don't want to give it to me or their system isn't up-to-date. I recently signed Bell's Fiber Letter like the one here back in Sept 2022 and I have been checking quite frequently on Bell's website to see if I'm eligible for FTTH. It wasn't until right now it says I'm eligible it (literally couple days ago it was still saying I don't have it).

I think Internet 300 is only being offered to existing home internet subscribers. I was able to get it offered after speaking to someone in the loyalty department after I got mobile winback offer.

I been with them for nearly 2 years for internet (credits expire February) and just signed another 2 year mobile agreement.

So far it seems like existing members whose credits from last year were expiring this year were offered 300 if they are in an eligible area (FTTH).

It might be an offer only offered by Retention for those that stayed a minimum X amount of days similar to the winback deals they have with Mobile. I've tried multiple times as a new activation to get 300 but haven't succeeded hence why I think you may need to be with them for a little bit before they can see that offer. Just me speculating though.

    • How does this or any other Bell fiber service work - do I need a land line like you had to have with DSL? They don't offer fiber to the house, just neighborhood, so what do they end up drawing to my house?
Fibre to the neighbourhood (FTTN) uses copper wires (DSL) for the "last mile" to the house.

      Image

When Bell installed fibre in my neighbourhood a few years ago. The contractor that did the work left a some extra fibre cable coiled up next to the side of the house. When I get fibre, Bell technician took this cable and put it through the wall to my basement where I wanted the modem to be installed. So now I have fibre to the home (FTTH).

Correct on the DSL. They will use existing phone lines (copper wire).

They offered me the same when I called to possibly cancel with them to switch to the Virgin 100Mbps/$45 deal. We're currently on a 75Mbps package and I don't think I want to get slower than what we have, though. My main issue is getting away from the Rogers lines, we both work from home and the Rogers outages have been no bueno. Want to switch to Bell/Virgin.

Yes, I just finished 2 years with Virgin plus mobile service and did the winback hardware upgrade Friday.
Had internet 100, but my credits for it were expiring in February 2023.

I was offered Internet 300 after getting the mobile winback deal. Just asked if they had internet with faster upload speed.

The first time it was offered to me for $55/mo after credits, second time same price, third time was able to get it for $40/mo. after I had added another line $25/mo. 50GB for 15 months.

Yes, you would see it when you switch location to Quebec.

Not yet advertised on the Ontario internet page. You would need to ask for it.

It is base price of $100/mo.

    • The base price in $100, there is a $10 credit which does not expire as long as I keep 300 speed, explained the agent.

I finally got Internet 300 ordered today, after trying for 3 days with different agents.
Upgrade from Internet 100, which was $40 after credits.

      I got the same breakdown.

I initially did not get the $5 credit, but after I told her I did an hardware upgrade yesterday and added a second line today, she got approval and added it. :)
