It's older, but this isn't the original, "Series 0" watch. It runs the WatchOS 5. It definitely isn't the latest and greatest, but is a decent option for people with an iOS device looking to get a smart watch.

    • it's not a bad price for this ...I got in on the $199 deal for Series 2 earlier ...if you dont care about water proofing and GPS then this is a good deal

    • I can't believe it's still worth this much... But I guess Apple is really good at maintaining their product value...

It's people's willingness to pay that does that...

That would have been the better deal for the newer model.

    • I picked up a 38mm unit for $189.99 during the last sale they ran in December and I love it. Definitely beats the used prices on Kijiji.

Ugh. The Series 1 and Series 2 watches were released at the same time. They have the same processor. Besides GPS, waterproofing, and minor display upgrades, they are identical. They run the same OS, at the same speed.

Cannot be updated since last watchOS update
This is incorrect information. watchOS 5.1.3 works on Series 1 or later.

    • Series 1 watch face is just 450 nits compared to Series 2 brightness of 1000 nits. This alone can be a deal breaker for many!

But if you don't care about a dimmer screen, no GPS and water resistance, this price is good!

While this is true, if you are not looking at them side by side, you won't know the difference. I find my Series 1 to be plenty bright.

Sorry, Upgraded model, not newer. Lots of upgrades for $20, there, Bro. Apparently the S2 has a much brighter display as well. Whether the processors are the same or not, means nothing if you are looking for those upgrades. Series 2 would have a better resale value as well. GPS addition is huge, waterproof... sounds like S1 is a dud. Doesn't stop people for asking for $150+ for them on Kijiji though.

Time machine, bro. Series 2 hasn't been on sale for a couple of months, and is still $400. Yes, a Series 2 at $200 is a better deal than a Series 1 at $180, but since that deal no longer exists, this is a great one.

I have Series 1 and had to turn the brightness down all the way. Not really a deal breaker.
