View allI think without the light bleed, the brightness would be fine.
The guy used a special piece of hardware to calibrate the color, contrast to be as accurate as possible.
He also includes a color profile you can load into windows to help with accuracy also.
Out of the box the monitor is very good though.
I am hesitating whether to replace it again for the light bleed on the buttom left corner. Did you replace yours?
otherwise return.

Staples is horrible.
order for in store pick up
I ordered from staples.ca and used free headset coupon. I noticed the monitor had dead pixel. I went to local store and they had one in stock.they had to do full refund and staples.ca will refund me in 2 business days. I had to purchase same monitor from store. They didn't take back the headset. after 2 days staples.ca sent me email that I didnt return the headset. I emailed them monitor proof of purchase.
"Our records indicate that a refund was posted to order number ******* in the amount of $338.99. Please allow up to 10 days for this credit to post to your account.
As the coupon valued at $69.98 is no longer valid there is also a charge of $79.08 as the minimum requirements are no longer met.

My second monitor has 4 dead pixels within 5 inch area near the bottom, not a 100% perfect monitor, but better than the first one I have (which had half-dozen cloudy spots right in the center viewing area -- I also think the first monitor may have been refurb/return as it was packaged differently than the second monitor [the stand had a plastic bag covering the metal feet, whereas the second monitor had the foamy bag; first monitor's power cable was in a zip lock bag, second monitor's came in a sealed bag -- also the first monitor's packaging was way more beat up, but that could be due to shipping?]). I didn't think the first monitor a return because it had the packing tape seal with "Acer" written on it.
I am going to keep the second monitor. The dead pixels are not that noticeable where they are. Coming from a 27" 1440p, this is the perfect size for me as everything is slightly larger (I use 100% scaling). I just got their customer experience survey e-mail last night and will be letting them know of my dissatisfaction with their service.
i havetriple setup...24inch IPS, 50inch TV 4k, 32inch 1440p! gonna go blind soon!
No burnt pixels, will follow recommendations for tuning tomorrow.
Thanks for this deal!!!!

Not bad for $30 (its regular price is $40). The Acer monitor weighs 15 lb and this arm supports monitors with up to 14.3 lb. Did any one try it?
This one will be a safer choice:

but it costs $20 more.
For the headphones and board, they attempted delivery twice last week but I was at work and no one else was home. When I called Staples, the CS agent said that after the third delivery attempt, they will cancel the order. So I took today off from work to not miss the delivery again. No one showed up but the Staples order page says that a failed delivery attempt was made. The problem is that this was an outright lie as I was home the whole day and no one showed up.
The expected delivery for the monitor was also today, March 4. At around 3:00 PM, Fedex changed the expected delivery to tomorrow, March 5, due to a a local weather delay. The problem is that the monitor arrived to the closest Montreal FedEx distribution center on Friday. I live in Montreal and the weather today was fine. No snow, no rain, and warm for a winter day (-5 C). I called Fedex and after 30 minutes on hold, I was told that the station manager is not answering and that they opened a ticket and should expect a call back. No call back yet.
I often use Amazon for online shopping and never had any problem. Are Staples known for these issues or my experience with them was an exception?
this one sometims 9.99cad.
That said these monitors come 100% brightness out of the box which is way to high, I use 30%.
There is good info in this thread about calibrating the monitor.
I bought two, and both of them have some. One is worse than the other but I'm trying to decide if it's worth returning. It doesn't bother me that much. But on a black background there's definitely some white areas in the corners.

It comes with a color profile if you want to use it or use the calibrated one posted earlier.
For brightness i brought it down to 30%, an earlier post on calibrated settings had it at 27%.
It should allow you three settings, Off, Normal, Extreme.

My OSD overdrive option is grey out. Can't change.
