There are video games at my Superstore (Edmonton), but they are behind the counter at Customer Service.

    • Was at RCSS in kitchener around 3pm. Looks like a restock and they had a good number of PS5 boxes behind the customer service counter. Not sure about Xbox as I only glanced over.

    • Did you end up buying it? I saw it at my local store this morning. I was debating if I wanted to blow all of my points on it, but then I left the store. I was wondering if it actually scanned at 399, because this did go for 300 a few months ago. I'd get it at 300 with todays offers🙃
No, I didn't end up buying it, so I can't confirm if you need a filler item or not. I just commented because I thought it was a good deal.

    • The $399.99 Street Fighter arcade cabinet with riser looks like a pretty good deal at $300 after the 25k/$100. Might need a filler item to reach $400 though.

Debating between the RCA 43" or the Onn 43" from Walmart. The RCA ends up cheaper after ON tax if points are factored in.
It’s always hit & miss with both brands tbh, I have a 55” RCA that’s been going strong for 4 yrs now, no issues, even after moving, and sounds decent. Friend of mine bought one that bit the dust in just over a year with terrible audio the whole time, YMMV…

    • Anyone know if 'baby' includes diapers?
It does. That’s why people usually stock up on diapers at these sales or at Shoppers weekend sales.
    • Anyone know if that will include gift cards?
Gift cards are never included in such promos. Usually have to look out for specific gift card promos such as buy X$ of specific brand gift cards for 10% back in points.

    • It is not as straight forward as it seems.
$100 with tax is $113. 25k back is around 22%, but it is still higher than 13%.
Nevertheless, if you buy something more expensive than $100, the 13% may ended up a better deal.
      The tipping point is $170.18.
So simply put, if you buy anything below $170.18, go for the 25k points. For above, go for no tax.
Ok. I want to update my comment since it is 25k for each $100.
I did the calculation again. The only time when no tax beat 25k points is between $170.18 to $199.99.
Anything over $200, 25k always win.

This was part of my point. Your initial message ended by saying that if it's under x amount, use one method, and if it's over x amount, use another method. We're all on the same page now.

    • So if I spend $300 I should take the no tax deal which is $36 in savings over $75 in points that can be used on just about anything in any Loblaws owned store? Taking the no tax makes no sense unless you're very short on money upfront.
He was agreeing with you.....RFD thread logic fail. Easy to do.
$170 - $199 no tax and all $100 increment after that.
Don't they give PC points for every $10 spent normally too?

    • The way you're thinking about it is flawed.

The 25K points back is for every $100 spent.
13% tax saved on $170.18 is just over $22, so that means saving tax on a purchase price BETWEEN $170.18 and $199.99 is netting you more savings than the value of the points you'd get back, because you didn't hit the next $100 to get the next 25K points yet.

It is not a hard limit over which one is better than the other. If you're buying in chunks of $100 (or even $50), AND you use the points back correctly/effectively/efficiently, the 25K points per $100 is the better "overall value". But saving tax is directly off the purchase price and means you are paying less money off the hop, no points to deal with, etc. Different strokes, different folks.

    • It’s worth noting that at every 100k added to your purchase price the 25k promo wins every time. The tax promo only works well for in between the 100 marks for each tier, but the savings are still not too great.

People are going to deplete stocks of stuff on 25th buying into the no tax marketing pull 🤦‍♂️

I guess it is better to wait until November 26 to buy an $100 product and receive $25 worth of point than saving $13 tax (13% HST for Ontario) on November 25.

RCA = Really Crappy Appliances. buyer beware without a warranty or return policy. Some folks report no issues. I bought two for basement and bedroom and they crapped out pretty quick. I didn't expect them to be great but I didn't expect them to die as infants.

I’ve bought 2 RCA in the distant past and they zonked out relatively quickly - also the audio was absolutely terrible.
That being said, my doctor had a huge RCA in his waiting room, and it looked decent - I was actually surprised (Audio was still poor)

Walmart Onn would probably be easier to get any form of warranty honoured as they have an actual electronics department.
