    • Hope I made the right choice of buying the Sharp 60'' over the LG 55'' for $50 more. The LG 55UJ6200/6300 review here: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uj6300 .
Sharp reviews: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sharp-60-c ... Id=5987501 (rtings has no sharp reviews)
Same as you. I bought the Sharp ($699 + No tax) due to the extra 5inhes, LG 55 inches (both Uj6200 and UJ6300 were also $699). So far I'm satisfied. I uprgarded from an old 32inches 720P Emerson... so this is a HUGE upgrade for me.

    • Has anyone set up the 60" sharp yet? I was keeping mine boxed until xmas, and was hoping to hear some reviews. Although maybe I should test it out before the 2 week return policy is up.
I've set it up and think the picture is great. It's a decent tv for the price. You can check reviews here for the US variant: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sharp-60-c ... Id=5987501

      RCSS West:
      Sharp 50" 4K LC-50P66U $429
      Sharp 60" 4K LC-60P62U $799
      LG 55" 4K 55UJ6200 $699

      LG 43" 4K 43UJ6200 $499
      Westinghouse 32" 1080p Smart TV $149

      RCSS ON:
      Sharp 60" 4K LC-60P62U $749
      LG 55" 4K 55UJ6200 $699
      LG 60" 4K 60UJ6200 $999

      LG 43" 4K 43UJ6200 $499
      Westinghouse 32" 1080p Smart TV $149
Are the 50" and 60" Sharp the same line, just different size? While in store I noticed the 50" has 4 HDMI vs 3 on the 60".

    • Indeed it is selling like crazy ! I have been trying to get one for the past 2 days and haven't had luck yet. Thanks to the plug on CBC, i think the sales went even crazier :)
Funny thing is that they were mainly talking about Amazon. And amazon is where they are thinking half a mill to a million units. So what they're selling locally here is peanuts. I feel good for this ex-Nortel inventor. He probably lost a hundred thousand on more on his stock benefits once Nortel went under.

    • The $4.99 thick sliced PC old fashioned bacon 1kg is as cheap as it will ever get. Normal price is $12.99. I even saw the store manager grabbing 2, and a few other employees doing the same.
A great deal on bacon! They had some Maple Leaf Whisky on for $3.44 as well, + 20% PC points. I seemed to get points on the bacon under "Fresh Pork" as well unexpectedly.

Also picked up some lego that was 20% off + no tax + 20% PC points. Bacon and lego...

    • I have a plasma Westinghouse 42 inches that's over 10 years old and is still my basement TV.
Was thinking of giving this one a chance.
      Does anyone else have it?
It has been on sale for less than CAN 200.00 earlier this year, but never at CAN 149.00 (and no tax today).
      Thanks...

    • Don't buy the Westinghouse. Spent over an hour trying to get the wireless network to accept the password I was sending, and then it refused to bring up Netflix setup without first scanning for channels which I don't use (I don't watch TV, only bought the TV to run Netflix and Bluray, that's it). Since I have no antenna or cable, it would scan for channels come up with zero then want to do it all over in an endless loop. Hitting Menu or any other key didn't help. Gave up and taking it back. BTW, it was surprisingly lightweight and felt very cheaply constructed, I didn't get the sense it would last more than the warranty period (one year).

Westinghouse is just a license to any company that wants to pay for the name. I'm not surprised - no reputable company will ever license Westinghouse if they plan to build their own brand or have a reputable brand of their own.

    • Best deal I've seen in a long time - bought a PS4 NBA2K18 bundle for a present, then took the $25 gift card and turned it into a $19.99 blue DS4 controller for me. Only complaint is that they didn't have any gold or silver ones.

Well worth showing up at 5:30.

    • Only bought items with environmental fees and saw the tax applied this AM.
I didn't even think that it shouldn't be taxed because the sale is no tax on product.

Also, the RCSS in Brampton at Hwy 10 & Steeles had about 50ish people when I got in line at about 5:45.
About 50 more showed up within the last 15 minutes before opening.

They had lots of TVs, and printers.
Only had one skid of instant pots, which I missed out on, but ordered the one on Amazon later on anyway.

I left with the two LG's (43" & 55") and a printer with no issue.
Everyone was actually very civil, which I greatly appreciated.

Looking at the fine print on the back of the flyer and all the exclusions, it does list environmental fee there. I interpreted that to mean that the environmental fee would still apply, not that it would still apply AND be excluded from the no tax event. They also list alcohol and other items that are always excluded from these no tax events so you're likely correct.

    • I bought a TV that qualified for the no tax event however at check out the sales terminal mistakenly applied tax to the environmental fee. I'm assuming it will do that to any product that has an environmental fee associated with it so keep an eye out. A manager had to come to the till to reverse it in my case.
