    • rofl I ended up getting the promo on my visa. Their system really wasn't ready for that promo. If you just let your bitcoin payment window (15 minutes) time out, it lets you pay with a cc in your order history. I was sceptical that it'd be that easy, but it just shipped.
I had a PS4 and dualshock controller. I tried checking out with the deal and it didn't work. The PS4 and Dualshock were put into seperate orders. So I cancelled the Dualshock and just completed the PS4 order. $359.31 for the PS4 after discount and taxes! It is too bad I couldn't use it on the Destiny Pre-Order. I never had any bitcoins I just figured I would attempt to get around using bitcoins. It was nice to be able to get around it and not have to pay for the over priced DS4 controller.

    • The Newegg.ca Bitcoin integration was problematic but in the end I got my PS4 and 4 packs of 8 Eneloops. 32 AAA batteries for $57 CAD shipped is $1.80/battery. Good deal. I also was able to get an Xperia Z1 Compact from the US site for $332 USD. Another good deal.

    • Meh, Newegg is very expensive when compared to nix and direct Canada. I was in a rush to get the 150 off my new hackintosh that I went to buy btc from the local btm. It charges 8% over market rate.
Combined with pricey shipping, I only saved 20$ over my 530$ pre-discount order when compared to paying with a credit card and buying at other retailers like ncix and direct Canada.
Plus you can't modify your order when buying with btc and you don't get the 1 year extended warranty your credit card provides. If you cancel, you get a gift card refund.
The checkout process was painful and buggy too.
      Caveat emptor I guess.
Was happy to see one more retailer accepting btc though and I still believe in btc.

    • x99 chip and board is pretty reasonably price, it's just the ddr4 pricing is nutz, what is wrong with them having 16gb kit of 4x4? where are the 64gb kit of 8x8 or 128gb kit of 16x8?
The price of memory in general is insane. I'm not asking for $25 8GB kits, but even $100 for a 2x4GB is insane.

I'd love to spend my BTC at 30% over market rate, but I just can't justify it for an X99 system for gaming right now. I might pick up a cell booster for the RV though.

    • Always verify you own the bitcoin receiving address before accepting a refund. If you paid through a third party like VoS or virtex you wouldn't have control of the address that made the payment.
The order that they cancelled was refunded to me in Newegg credit not bitcoin. No explanation was given. Customer support didn't understand what happened and couldn't resolve it, and the next thing I see is store credit in my Inbox. I didn't make any mistakes since all I did was place an order, received an invoice, and paid it. Ideally, if they had a problem with my order, they shouldn't send me a QR Code or invoice to pay them. But that's fine. It's what I consider the price of early adoption. I'm sure in the future, these things will get ironed out.

This wasn't the issue. It was because Newegg's policy is that any sort of refund for a Bitcoin purchase is given as Newegg credit. They will not reimburse you in BTC since they instantly convert your BTC to fiat at the time of payment.

On another note, I just received both my packages today! Gonna set up this 12 TB NAS soon.

    • Just received Newegg credit. How useless.

      EDIT:

OK, I was able to re-order with the promo code and this time it wasn't cancelled. It was a lengthy process for me. But I understand that this is a new system and the bugs need to get ironed out early in its deployment.

    • I'm sure the 8GB dimm's will come soon, this is just the launch hardware that's available. I'm curious to know why others are having issues with the BTC checkout, I used a blockchain wallet not that it matters but what might is how much you've allotted for transaction fees because if you put a really low amount it could take a while to verify payment and might be a timeout issue on there side. Again that idea seems far-fetched, what sounds more reasonable is there might be some discrepancies in the order (additional coupons / marketplace items). Check the blockchain to make sure payment went through or not.

    • Hey guys can this coupon be used on two different names at same household?
Yes, you can even do it with same name @ same household but just use different accounts. Bitcoin address is irrelevant they don't care if it's associated with multiple orders it's just the coupon limitation per account.

    • Bought Z97 formula, Kraken X61, 32GB Dominator Platinum and 2 x EVGA P2 1000W over 3 orders on different accounts. Awesome savings, chance to use bitcoin and most importantly in stock rather than being on back-order / pre-order like some retailers. Stuff I ordered yesterday is already delivered and PSU's should arrive Monday, would have ordered both H440's also but I wanted red & blue and NCIX had free shipping ($15 shipping per case @ Newegg). Bitcoin system is so easy there is downtime on there side every so often but if you try back in a few minutes it's usually resolved. For future reference I would take into account that you can't pick up orders when paying with bitcoin so factor in shipping costs when buying BTC, localbitcoins is a great place to meet trusted traders.

    • I have been having trouble checking out all night...and their online chat support was no help :(

I hope they will fix this soon as I went thru the hassle of acquiring the bitcoins (not to mention the premium paid to do so). If I can't spend it on newegg then I will have to go thru all that again to convert them back into cash as I don't really feel like keeping the bitcoins.

I had trouble too. The only way I found was to checkout as guest and create a new account when you get the option at checkout. It's the only way I could get the bitcoin address to show and pay.

    • No, the problems aren't unique to just a few people. I think it is happening to a lot of people. If they don't get it fixed, some of us can still take advantage of the Newegg US promotion on Aug30/Sep1 and spend the bitcoins there and ship the order to a nearby shipping center in the US. Some of the prices on the US site is even cheaper after the exchange rate so it won't be a total loss. For example, a PS4 is $399 USD there so after 1.10 conversion, it is $439 CAD. But now, you need to buy more filler items to reach the $500 USD mark. Hopefully Newegg won't charge any State tax and we'd just pay our Canadian taxes when we bring it back. When I bought from TigerDirect.com earlier I wasn't charged any State taxes.

    • I had the weirdest problem which was probably only unique to me.

I couldn't checkout and kept getting an error while trying to pay with Bitcoin. I suspect it had something to do with Squid running on my PfSense box because once I used a VPN everything worked fine.

    • Yes because instantly transferring money any where in the world for little to no fees is so inconvenient, It is much more convenient to use a currency which continues to lose value on a daily basis (inflation). Bitcoins can be used universally around the world and across the web and can be easily converted into fiat currencies.

Judging by your comments, it seems you do not understand how money gets its value or how virtual currencies work. I suggest you do some reading on the subject before you post nonsense.
Going to get moderated as off topic anyway. I'll enjoy my 'nonsense', you enjoy yours.

Does VoS offer immediate coin buy back after purchases? Like what coinbase is doing?

I found buying the coins is the hardest part thus far. The rates are too high compared to what NE is using.
