    • Couldn't complete check out as website kept giving me an error. Called Microsoft Store support and CSR said she can't help as her system is down. Guess they are using Windows!

Edited to add: CSR called me back the following day to let me know their system is up again and to place an order for me. I placed an order through the website.

I feel like this cable you are linking looks like the dozens of others I've thrown out over the years that broke two days after opening.
Some of these no name cables are so bad you might as well put them on a subscribe and save.

I think you're right about those china made ones, it doesn't matter how they look they're hardly reliable. well I ordered this Belkin one, let's see... I can report back if it ever breaks

      thanks OP

    • Noob question... With this adapter, will I be able to use my usb-A headset, with my phone's usb-C port? I see things like mouse and keyboard listed, but don't see headset.

    • This adapter is to an USB-A female. Is this an USB-C to an USB-A male adapter? This way, I can plug with device with USB-C to my laptop that has only an USB-A female port. I have been looking for this for a long time...

    • How's the compatibility with MacBooks with this one? I only see compatibility with MacBook Pro 13" (2017) on the website. I'm guessing newer MacBooks are forced to use their own apple dongle?

    • Why not just buy a USB c hub? Many on Amazon for a similar price and better functionality

    • FWIW we have a number of the USB C hubs off Amazon from my work (the ones around $30) and while they're fine for a display and a mouse, we ended up having to buy a bunch of these for cases when you need reliable connections.

      E.g.:
      • USB hard drives - the cheap ones would stall out mid transfer
      • USB monitors
The expensive name-brand hubs are also fine but at $10 these Belkin ones are quality and cheap enough to just leave on the ends of some cables.

It depends on your phone and it depends on your headset - all the phones support different features over USB C, and different USB headsets also use different protocols.

That's literally a usb a to usb c cable. Extremely common.

Unless your device has the USB c cable hardwired in and you're looking for usb c female to usb a male adapter. I have in that came with my wireless headset, so they're definitely out there.

    • I have an Elgato Camlink that doesn’t work reliably with a powered USB-C port extender. This Belkin adapter should work great. I wouldn’t trust a no-name brand generic adapter. Also, Microsoft store ships faster than anywhere else.

    • You sir get my random purchase of the day. Order went through no problem. So many things are changing over to USB-C so figured having one on hand will eventually come in handy. I’ve had good luck with Belkin products, I’d buy this over some random Amazon manufacturer. Cheers
