This is replaceable. Since when does a 9360 come with an onboard ssd.

    • Pretty sure the SSD is just an M.2 drive. RAM in these is soldered on though. (IMO 8GB is fine for ultraportable use).

    • Very sure it is a M.2 drive but ya the ram is soldered. Not sure why no one is commenting on the price. Lowest price I have ever seen on the touch screen version of this laptop.

    • If the ssd is m2 then it is a good deal.

more like since when does the XPS line comes with onboard ssd?

anyway, pretty sure he meant soldered ram but got confused. i believe the XPS line only carries M2 ssd. at least the latest ones

    • Storage is an upgradable M.2 SSD. Ram is not upgradeable.

    • Very good price actually, specially since it is a FHD touchscreen model however based on the reviews from the site I read when researching before people said the battery was not great and it had bad coil whine. I purchased the XPS 13 1-2 months ago from Dell directly for 1080p (non touch) 256gb ssd, fingerprint reader and 2 years warranty for $1250 and had pretty much 0 coil whine or issues. I did end up returning it eventually but that was because I didn't like the keyboard in general (too used to my older thicker laptops amazing keyboard).

Also the one I purchased from Dell directly had insane battery life, was getting over 12 hours after the first 1 week for things to stabilize in windows. I went two days once without charging (on and off usage studying). Again, Microsoft has an insanely good return policy so it's not really risky to purchase it from them if you do end up with any problems. Dell also has a solid return policy but takes a bit longer to receive the laptop since they make it brand new. Also to get that really solid deal I did on the xps 13 I used the dell.ca/epp site, just click student to get the discount. This along with the 10%offxps (works only on some models) and $100off$1300pc with my venngo discount made it really cheap.

    • A new model with quad-core CPU's is incoming mid-september. Better hold onto your money as that model will probably fix all the current issues and Dell is promising 44% faster speed on the new ones.

I think is the student discount price.

    • This is a great price. I got mine with similar specs for around $1400.

    • Student price is 10% off and this is lower than that so no discount.

There is no way any one is going to get the new model for anywhere around this price. Most people will not notice a difference in speed either.

    • As someone who's just started looking into replacing my older laptop and hasn't kept up with specs and pricing. Is this a good deal or just meh?

It's OK. Pretty sure these have been available without a touchscreen (doesn't appeal to me on a laptop personally) for less than $1000.

    • oops, thanks that make sense why the prices seemed so good

    • The SSD is M.2. 9360 supports BOTH SATA and PCI-e so you can pick any SSD you want to replace the built-in. I used both a 850 EVO 500GB and MX300 275GB (m.2 obviously) in my wife's 9360. Works great!
