Anyways, I figured out the Smart Life setup and have uninstalled the Lenovo app.
I went with the Smart Life app from Volcano Technology Limited over the Tuya Smart app as the Smart Life had more downloads, 10M vs 5M. I installed the Tuya app and it looked pretty similar to the Smart Life. Not really sure which one is actually better.
Once added to Smart Life, tap Me at the bottom right of the home page. That will let you link to "Third Party Services" including Google and Alexa. I've given authorization for both of those apps so I can control the strip using either one.
I've currently got a strip setup on the Lenovo Link Pro app as per the instructions that came with the strips. The Lenovo app hasn't been updated since Aug 27,2021 - so I kind of would like to uninstall and go with just the Smart Life app. The Lenovo app doesn't seem to integrate with any of the home automations like Alexa or Google Home which is another reason not to use it.
I stripped open one of the controller boxes and confirmed that these strips have WB3S chips. No soldering required to flash.

I can now turn on/off/dim my bedroom lights and and Lenovo strips as "one", fun!
I bought a couple of LED light strips before and the only white option was the stark daytime almost blueish light and the yellow was distinctly yellow. I would prefer a warm white colour for behind a cabinet..
Has anyone put them into aluminum rails with diffusors? What size did you get?
You mounted the powerbar to the back of the TV? so you got only 1 cord instead of having multiple cords leaving the TV? Such a great and simple idea.
Trying to decide if I get this or one of those light bars that mount on the top of a monitor that also have RGB on the back towards the wall. Slightly different use case, but I'm kind of wanting to use backlight and front light when I do work at the table,
