heypeterman found a very hot price on pre-orders for a couple editions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8 at Amazon.ca which comes out on October 30th: Better yet, members have found a rebate good for an additional $30 US off the Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8 and $20 US back for Photoshop Elements 8 alone! We're not sure how long this price will last but we're guessing it won't be too long!

If you're not familiar with these products, in short they're more consumer oriented version of Adobe's famous image editor, Photoshop and their video editing suite, Premiere. You can find more details on Adobe's site but they're both designed to help you manage and touch up your photos and videos.

    • It's a pre-order price just like Windows 7. It's a good deal. If I didn't already have CS3, I would grab it before they double the price.

Mail-in rebate terms and conditions for Adobe Premiere Elements 8

Offer valid in the United States, Canada, and the territory of Puerto Rico only. Offer void where prohibited or restricted by law. Offer valid for purchases made from September 23, 2009, through October 31, 2010.

Looks like it should be $30 USD ($33 CDN) rebate... I guess if you want to save money, you can buy both instead of just Elements.

      5 star deal.

We also use CS3 / Vegas / Avid, but if you need a powerful editing suite for the vast majority of home and prosumer needs, it's hard to beat $53 shipped!

Go via AirmilesShops.ca to get to Amazon.ca before ordering and get 2 air miles (it's 1 air mile per $20 spent at Amazon.ca)

Of course, if you do that instead of going through the RFD affiliate link autogenerated in the OP message then RFD doesn't get their commission which is in part what keeps this site running.

Are they the same rebate or am I missing something here
Is there a $20 rebate available for Premiere Elements 8 by itself (not bundled)?

    • The $20 rebate form doesn't say anything about one rebate per customer/household. It's cheaper to get each separately (not the bundle) and to apply the rebate separately for each. Ie. buy them for 2x$25, then submit 2x$20 rebates and you have them both for $10 excluding taxes.

    • those rebate forms are confusing. which one is valid?
edit: or better yet, where do you get the 'official' rebate form?

    • So, when it says that all rebates must be postmarked within 6 weeks of purchase, what is the purchase date? Today? or the day it is billed and shipped? Very tempting, just don't want to miss out on the rebate. For pre-orders, if they ship on the 30th, how long does it usually take Amazon orders to arrive?

I was thinking the same thing.

**edit** - Hey, I just noticed the rebates for Canada are submitted to Chatham, ON!!! Woot Woot!

    • Just keep in mind, this is Photoshop Elements, the VERY basic version of Photoshop (compared to CS4).

I'm just saying, because I was just about to buy until I realized what version it was.

You didn't realize which version it was, $25 as opposed to $800???

I've used Elements before and still find it has tons of features... I am still trying to figure things out.

Am about to pull the trigger on the separate software for the 2 rebates, anyone found fine print to state only one rebate per household, etc?
