    • Nothing I'm interested in at the moment, but I recommend products from this store.

I've made three purchases in the past and all basically appeared brand new.

    • It's final sale, unless unit happened to be DOA / there was something else wrong with it and you needed to exchange it, but otherwise you can't just change your mind and return it. If you buy from the Dyson website, they allow returns.
I returned a v8 in the past by creating an eBay disbute. It had lots of dents on the housing. Dyson accepted the return and sent me a return shipping label.

    • Nice, thank you. Christmas shopping for my wife and mom done. Airwrap for my mom and straightener for my wife. :) My wife already has the airwrap and she loves it.

American Express also has an offer for $5 off order over $15. Not much but everything counts! :)

    • My outsize just delivered today! came 95% charged. I fully charged it before putting it to the test.

Mine read about 50 mins run time on a full 100% charge, so I guess it's a bit short of the 60 mins note (though they claim up to 60 mins)... but i guess it's within that range.

First thing - bigger canister but man, it's heavy! It's really meant for 2 handed operation. With the floor sweeper, it's not as noticeable but if you're just using say the crevice tool on the unit, it's definitely a huge difference compared to my old v6 in terms of weight.
It sucks though - i managed to roughly do 2 floors in about 25 mins. Mostly hardwood, some area rugs. My old v6 could not handle dog fur and stuck in fibers on the area rugs. This one worked like a charm. It sensed the area rug and automatically pumped up the power. I used to have to pull out my full size vac for area rugs. Not anymore! I didn't do all the detailed work with the floor boards, etc, just mainly vacced the floors to test it out. There's still about 25 mins left on the battery so definitely the suggested battery life is accurate.

Compared to the v6, it's a huge upgrade. But unfortunately I can't really comment on whether the v10 would be just as good and if this is worth the upgrade.
Mine came looking basically brand new. I'm happy with the purchase. I guess vacuum day just because arm day as well 😂

Thanks OP - really needed a new vac!
Made the leap hey? Well done... still on the fence. I'm almost in the same boat with an old V7 with no battery life. I do have a V8 that I use on my main floor, but want another for upstairs where my dogs are leaving endless hair on our carpets LOL

    • Prices have gone up. I bought the v11b Just before Christmas from dyson direct for $450 plus I got 10% back through rakuten. Buying from eBay is final sale, but dyson direct you have 30 days to return.

    • not sure I would compare it to the outsize retail for $1200. That one is the Outsize+

I looked into it a bit. The outsize+ shows up to 120hours of run time but the refurb outsize only has up to 60 hours run time (diff due to extra battery). Also, the accessories are different too, such as the laser cleaner head. That said, I still sprung for the outsize. I bought the V6 sometime in 2017 and the battery is pretty much dead. It's my main vacuum so I'm willing to pay a bit more for a newer model assuming I can get 5 years out of it (fingers crossed)

    • Do you have experience buying refurbished units from Dyson eBay? Seems like there's a no return policy, just wanted to know how good/bad their refurbished items are.

      Thanks!
No returns, but if by some chance you get something that is DOA/you are otherwise not happy with, you should be able to do an exchange without much issue. I have purchased a few items and have not had any problems thus far.
What’s the difference between the regular V10 and V10B?
As noted above, the V10B's bin capacity is 50% larger.

That's a good point - though I think the machine at its core (i.e. motor/power) is exactly the same, this refurb is the '2021' version. The Outsize+, or the 2022 version, features the laser 'fluffy' head from the V15, along with an updated motorhead, and the second battery that you mentioned (extra battery and head together are $400 retail on their own).

My brother and I have purchased refurbished units from ebay. Perfect condition, no issues, using since the last 3-4 years.

Thanks for the commentary and pointing out the single battery. Retail the Outsize is about $1200, so it still seems like a decent deal at $685 refurbished.
Guess I could always wait until the next big sale (Black Friday? Boxing Day?)

      Cheers!

    • Actually the Outsize is quite a bit more powerful than the V10. In terms of suction power, the V10 is around 140 air watts but the Outsize is around 220 air watts. It's probably the cordless Dyson that is closest in power and capacity to a full-size corded Dyson, but at the expense of size and weight (not as light / as easy to move around).
I believe the Outsize bin is basically the same capacity as the full size corded vacs.

The other aspect with the Outsize refurb to be aware of (if you are buying it for battery life) is that refurbished models only get 1 battery, whereas retail / brand new models get 2.

    • Hmmm.. the V10B or Outsize?
Seem relatively comparable in performance. Anyone have any thoughts on the latter?
Still a lot of bones to shell out for a stick vacuum, but could use the upgrade.

    • Ordered! Thanks for the heads up OP. My old dyson V6 is on the fritz and I've been dying for a sale!!

Stupid way they calculate the discount. the 15% discount is on the regular price but taxes are calculated on the regular price, not 85% of the listed price. Just annoying little things they do 😕

    • I would say yes. I prefer the bin empty mechanism on the V10 and up models (aside from the fact that each successive generation has more suction power). Don't get me wrong, the V8 is a good vacuum in its own right, but at this point, keep in mind that you are buying something that was released in 2016, and has been eclipsed by several other models. I might buy one to keep as a secondary somewhere else, but not if it was my main vacuum.
Thanks! Wasn't aware there's a two year gap between the two... Will go for the V10 then.

    • What's the difference between v10 and v10b
Animal has a 50% larger dustbin.

Usually the Animal (V10b) comes with more attachments than motorhead (V10) but from the listings it looks like they come with the same attachments?

Absolute (V10H) comes with the soft roller.

I've bought 2x refurb fans and a blow-dryer and they were all good. The fans had a few small scuffs but otherwise looked and operated perfectly.

    • To put some perspective, people thought this was a good price at $550 before taxes. The 15% brings it down to about $485 before tax so it's not bad :) ATL is about 460-470 but given the low inventory, I would not mind spending the extra $15 at this point

Edit: I should also add the long barrel is a more popular product
