    • Was hoping for the best. The precision 5720 aio has been popping up lately on other refurbers as well, but none with touch. I assume the touch variant is just substantially less common or maybe more fragile as some of the earlier touch devices were kind of wonky like the dell xps which had some touch screen issues.
      I have to admit, I am a touch-hater - never use it, don't like it :) Pretty sure the only way I knew touch was even working on my current work laptop was when my cat touched the screen and the mouse cursor moved :D

    • Thanks but the specs only show "Video Integrated Graphics" so it's a bit of a gamble. My monitors are a decade old but are fine for me.
      Googling for specs of each model should get you the information.
      It is too bad that the Dell Refurbished site doesn't provide a direct path to detailed specs. It might be a lot of work to track it down.

      I wish Dell had something like Lenovo's PSREF database. Maybe they do but I'm unaware of one.

    • DP should be very easy to convert to any of the others with a relatively inexpensive adaptor.
      The trick is in the higher resolutions.
      FullHD @ 60 Hz DP => HDMI just takes a cable
      UltraHD @ 30 Hz DP => HDMI is cheap but I think that it takes a dongle
      UltraHD @ 60 Hz DP => HDMI takes a more expensive active dongle e.g. https://www.amazon.ca/Plugable-DisplayP ... B00S0C7QO8

      The later is interesting since most 4th gen Intel and later CPUs have an iGPU that does UltraHD @ 60 Hz through DP but only 30 Hz through HDMI (if there is an HDMI port).
      This is quite annoying for those of us who use an UltraHD TV as an inexpensive monitor -- TVs only accept HDMI.


      More arcane knowledge. I learned this long ago for an amazing-at-the-time high res Dell monitor:
      2560 x 1600 required Dual Link DVI. Not produced by iGPUs. Only by very expensive video cards at that time. Years later DP was invented. DP => Dual Link DVI dongle is not common and not cheap.

      Anyway, your question suggests you need to study some more. Unfortunately specs don't always tell you what is missing from a device.

      Here are the most common video ports:
      • HDMI: great for TV input. Up until fairly recently iGPU HDMI output did not support UltraHD @ 60 Hz
      • DisplayPort+ (DP+): often does support UltrraHD @ 60 Hz but hard / moderately expensive to convert to HDMI UltraHD @ 60 Hz
      • DVI: old; most stop at 1920 x 1200 resolution (Dual Link DVI can do better but is rare). Conversion to HDMI at FullHD is easy. No sound.
      • VGA: old. Partly analog. Ignore unless backed into a corner
      • Composite Video: totally obsolete

    • I am surprised that many of the Micro models posted come with only Windows Home. I thought OptiPlex would almost always comes with Windows Pro.
      @XeniaOnatopp My best guess is that many of the corporations purchasing likely have their own corporate image, so they purchased a 'cheaper' license to save a few $$. We are obliged to reload the original license, however, hence why so many with Home. As you said though, a business user MAY need Pro, but the majority of home based users do not.
