    • Ok I just finally set up my monitor. I bought the 32 Curved 4K UHD Monitor - S3221QS.

Is it normal for it to be this terrible? There is so much backlight bleeding. It’s crazy. Colors are pretty bad too. The blacks aren’t black… more like gray lol

    • I can have some understanding if mine was delayed due to natural disaster. However, many of these orders, mine included, were delayed due to them being "In Production". IE, they weren't in stock when we ordered. They clearly would know this. No way their internal stock counts were that off. So my guess is someone at the head of some department, decided to hell with it. We'll take orders and the heat that will come with the delays that will surely occur. They sold something to me/us that they actually didn't even have. Especially knowing that those of us who bought during their sale would end up SOL by losing out on other sales. I have had one similar such incident many years ago with another big company. I had a lawyer draw-up a letter and I ended up with a settlement offer which I accepted as long as I didn't disclose publicly said company. If I sold something to someone that I didn't actually have, it'd be considered fraud and I would risk a court action going against me. I personally don't let these big corporations off the hook. If this thing doesn't arrive by Christmas day. It will have screwed me and others. And I would lose the chance on another BF monitor deal, which I was at a coinflip away from choosing. I'm a pitbull. I stand up for myself. Long rant...but this is very Grinch-like by DELL. They messed with my kid's Christmas. Not acceptable. Wish you luck in your situation!
Hahahahahaha had a lawyer draw up a letter. You know how much longer your order is going to take if you act like an asshole all the time. I know I for one would delay and delay if someone acted the way you make up stories.
Also hilarious how you keep bringing up this in production shit like you have any idea what that even means.

    • Dell has been doing this recently while chip shortage problem arises.

You can never trust Dell's ETA at the order confirmation stage. I bought several systems/laptops in 2021 and only one laptop was delivered before ETA, and that one was super quick (arrived within week)

For my 2x R12 with 3080, I waited more than 2.5 months and Purolator was performing not too bad for these past orders.

But this time I guess it's because of BC flooding situation, they rerouted all the BC shipment to YYZ and they caused a havoc.

I believe many RFDers will be very interested in the class action against Dell because you can find many long rants inside every Dell's thread 😂

    • So it looks that people in western Canada all get hit by Purolators "delayed due to natural disaster"

Unlike my previous orders shipped before December, this time they all go to YYZ, and although there's currently no severe weather condition here at YVR and there near YYZ, Purolator still plans for delay of the shipment.

Dell shipped with Purolator Express, which was originally guaranteed to be delivered the next day after the machines or monitors hit Canada, and Purolator couldn't keep their promises

Son of a Bitch eh, no disaster in Toronto that I know of, although the 150km winds on Friday would have delayed some planes. They closed the skyways in Burlington and st Catharine so another truck doesn't flip over like a few years ago. Mine was picked up in a Toronto Friday at 10pm. Sat at Purolator all weekend and delivery yesterday morning. Thankfully the driver brought it up because the gf wouldn't have had an easy time with that box it's pretty damn big.

It is a very nice monitor. Even just In path of exile its night and day smoother going from 60hz to 144hz.
Last dollar Dell will ever get from me. Delayed twice now. And now they say est ship date is December 21st. So I doubt we'll get this monitor THIS YEAR, let alone by Christmas day. I was originally shown an estimated delivery date of Dec 16th. Well before Christmas day. They are going to ruin our Christmas due to their crap. I bought this it showed IN STOCK. Not "TO BE PRODUCED". If I'd known this information at the time, I would've ordered the LG from Amazon instead. Now the give me all sorts of excuses. I just threatened them with court action if we don't get this by Christmas. I've had better shipping experiences from sketchy Chinese online retailers.
I cancelled yesterday. Last revised shipping date was Dec 9 which had long passed without actually happening. Couldn't get thru to customer service to complain/get a discount. Tired of wasting time checking the status, so gave up.

    • AH, ok...so you're simply a troll. I just had to look at the length of this reply to realize that. I didn't read it. Not worth my time. You obviously have enough of it (time) to want to troll people on RFD hiding behind YOUR screen. Buh-bye, Arthur. Hope you get that help you do indeed need. 😉
Awww sunshine are you hurt by the truth and logic at how stupid your comment of a threat of court action for false advertising & fraud sounds?

Only one that needs help is you and (clearly can see why) ex wife. Because if someone got that bent out of shape for a little shipping delay id divorce her too.
    • So I'll add on another hahahahaha for court action, Thinking it's false advertising and fraud. Thank you, that is the funniest shit we have heard all day.

Well it was in stock Dec 4th and 6th when I ordered 3 and they were delivered yesterday. Guess I should take them to court too since my delivery was supposed to be Dec 10th.

So what does it matter if your elderly parents pooled your money together to get it? I'm not in the wrong at all the only one that is wrong is you. Then mayne you'll figure out the logistics for a company that ships out probably 500,000 orders a month. Then maybe you can open up a bigger port so there isn't thousands of container ships sitting in the ocean waiting to offload. If a little shipping delay has screwed her up that bad that she can't parent then she should be committed. Do like any normal parent would do. Print off a picture of the monitor so if it doesn't make it the kid knows what's coming.

You sure the kid is the 11 year old? Threatening a level 1 customer service agent with court action over a delayed shipment is the real reason why they can't find enough people to work dealing with all the asshole customers.

    • No what's hilarious is your post. It was shown IN STOCK when I ordered it. They have admitted that it actually was never in stock. It's in production. So there is more to it than YOU know, genius. The fact that you laugh at this and side with them when they're clearly in the wrong here, shows a lot about you. My parents, 84 and 89 years old and myself pooled our money to buy this as a Christmas present for my 11 year old. It was shown as IN STOCK when I bought it. Not "In Production". His mom (we're divorced) was going to buy the other monitor he has here from me to give to him for Christmas to have a nice monitor for him at her residences. So their false advertising/fraud is screwing her up too. So please, keep your peanut gallery comments to yourself and get help. You may very well need it.

Lucky, mine supposedly shipped Dec 7th. I don't know where YVR is but I can see Toronto on a clear day across the lake so no way in hell mines anywhere near Toronto airport lol

But if I was you go bitch to the order chat. I got $50 refund for shipping delays. Also have to call the technical people since I said it's really shady that my warranty has already started and you guys don't even know if the monitor was even shipped. Mine says shipped in dell's site. No where on the site does it tell me the tracking number. Had to actually load the invoice and there it tells the way bill number.. Nothing shows up on Purolators tracking for it yet though.

Purolator says the tracking number doesn't exist and maybe it's just not in Canada yet since it will only start being trackable once it hits Canada. Never had that be an issue before in the 30 years or so I've been ordering stuff.

    • Thanks - will be keeping an eye on smearing. I would actually prefer an ultrawide IPS as I don't really mind the glow and I care more about response time. But I can't justify paying almost twice as much ($435 for Dell s3422dwg vs $800 for LG 34GP83A-B both before tax). Maybe when IPS panels drop their prices more in the future.
From what I read the Dell has very little of this issue. I know poor VA panels have this issue the most. My friends Samsung G7 32 inch had no smearing that caught my attention. He felt the same way. But it can just be my eyes. I didnt go and look for it though.

Personally, I wouldnt go and "look" for something that's not bothering you. Most people notice it on happenstance or not. If you find a little bit of it, or maybe none of it. You will just keep thinking about something you may never have noticed casually is what I'm saying.

I totally understand. It was a tough pill to swallow for me, but it was also a write-off for my business and I had that hefty Amazon Business discount coupon from a few months ago so I could justify it.

I think the real disruptor here will be mini LED, but only time will tell...

Shadows and RTX are framerate killers for the most part. If you need to get more fps, reduce those. Or just use DLSS for games that support it.
is Afterburner better than Alienware Command Center for OC?
And yeah - Ray Tracing is something of a luxury for RTX 2070, can't really use it unless allowing fps to drop to < 60.
