    • I love my Dell qhd

    • Great prices for these models. I have both the D and DS for non-gaming and can't complain on any of them.

    • Question for the experts. If use case is primary for work, productivity and occasional 1080p gaming, is 4K too much for a 27 inch?

I like my Dell QHD (S2721DS) too, but I'm thinking 4K UHD might be better at the size of 27''.

With QHD, the sharpness of texts is lower than what I like. Maybe I'm spoiled by the smartphone display.

    • I have had 3 Dell U2713s for a while now. I might just be getting old but I can't even make out the original resolution from ~30 inches away (I have to bump the text scale to 125%). I also don't really watch movies on my PC. For me, 4k would likely serve no benefit at this size.

Not at all, because you can just make things bigger (ie scale up/zoom) it keeps things looking nice and sharp. I personally can't go back to 1440p after using 4k screens lol. A 1440p monitor displaying at that resolution will look blurry if you sit fairly close and you'll be able to see the individual pixels if you look for them, whereas a 4k monitor displaying at 1440p (or anything less than 4k really) is going to look extra clear.

The only reason to go for a 1440p monitor over a 4k one is either budget or to get a gaming monitor with a much faster refresh rate.

Hmm..not noticing that at all. Perhaps if you sat closer to the screen than me, the relative size magnification in your vision would lower the sharpness of the screen.

    • How do these panels compare to that recent 28 inch 4K Samsung monitor deal we had a few weeks ago?

No, the 4K is gorgeous at 27".

I've got the 27" S2721D and it's fantastic as a second monitor for my laptop. I also have the U2718Q and 4K at 27" is even better. Both are good options, though. 1080p looks very screen-door ish to me at this size.

Do your Dell panels have any yellow tint to them? (That’s my biggest gripe with panels)

much better screen color and quality

    • Is this mostly a productivity monitor or would gaming on it be a waste.

    • the S2721DS would come up to $294 included tax and there's eco fees. Is there a better price out there for this monitor?

Also how is the return on these as i've read there is a 15% restocking fee?

    • Any reason why I shouldn't get both? as one primary and one secondary monitor.

    • Bought a S2721QS a couple of week ago for my Mac Mini M1. Really love it so far! Tempted to get a second one for I don’t know why. 🤷‍♂️

Hmm, to my eyes no but I'm less particular on this front than some.

One thing I did notice though - I have a friend who's an app developer and he has a 3x Dell U2718Q setup. The colour calibration is different on each and every screen, and I notice it side by side!

    • would have been super hot if it was paired with 10% rakuten

    • Good deal! But no rakuten cash back (only 2%). If only it was 10% cash back or more…
