    • Would this be ok for PS4 1080P gaming and spreadsheets? That’s about all I’d use it for.

Yes on both counts. However, you will notice some slight pixelation on cell content in Excel.

Seems like a waste though as you'll only get 1080p60 from your PS4. Why not go cheaper and get a standard 27" IPS 60Hz 1080p panel. Keep life simple.

Where can I get a cheap 27" IPS 60Hz 1080p gaming monitor? Preferably not LG as I had 2 in the past and they both died on me.

Staples often have 27" IPS monitors on clearance when you go in store.

It requires a little sleuthing online and in-store, but you'll find a decent deal somewhere.

It doesn't officially support Gsync or it would be $400+, if you do get it to work like most monitors that failed the compatibly test it's probably not very good and will have issues

    • I thought you can now run Gsync on all Freesync monitors?

Don't understand what you mean, but you need a pc to run this.

    • The link does not go to the monitor, so if you're talking about the D2719HGF it shows 246.39 for me.
Would be nicer at 2k though, 1080p is kind of old tech.

You use a PS4 for spreadsheets? You can run Exel (or something similar) on there?

PS4 is only good for 1080p anyway, unless you mean for video or something? Even the Professional version is only between Ellesmere PRO and XT, so it def. ain't doing real 4K gaming.

Why would you need a PC to "run this"? It's a monitor, it has HDMI. Any device PC or CE or phone/tablet even, that has HDMI output and 1080p support will be able to use this monitor.

I thought they are asking if we need a PC for the gaming monitor, not many devices can run 1080p @ 144Hz, you would have to have a GPU either in a pc or in a laptop sort of thing. its an overkill if you are buying this for PS4.

I'm sure you don't need to run it at 144Hz...that's just the max it can do. If it has FreeSync support I'm sure it can also support traditional static refresh rates like 1080p 60Hz.

Seems like you are intentionally not trying to understand. if you are running this monitor at 60 Hz, its a waste. Might as well get a decent 27 inch IPS panel which runs 1080p at 60 Hz and costs less. I think you can score some for 190.

Seems like you are intentionally trying to confuse the issue. Why would you want an IPS panel for gaming?
