get this dealStarting today, the popular MMORPG, DC Universe Online, goes free to play on PC and PSN. If you're a fan of DC Comics, and have the patience and bandwidth for a ~13GB download, this is definitely a game to check out. Launched as a retail game with a paid monthly subscription earlier this year, you'll now be able to enjoy the core game play absolutely free. Of course, there will be some drawbacks compared to people who've paid for the game but free is free!

View allI will probably need to repurchase as I am totally digging PC with 360 gamepad over the PS3 version.
Not a knock on the PS3, it's fun but inherit to consoles things like chatting is a pain in the a$$
Don't have this **** in L.A.!

Anyhow the game loaded up smooth - lots of users in the "newbie" area - saw a few of the veteran players who seemed very happy to see an influx of new players -- describing it like "OMG its like launch day all over again!" and "Look at the newbz lets go gank'em all". The game looked polished and smooth will be on there some tonight running some missions and what not. Message Dogblood if you get on, perhaps we can create the RFD league.. .LOL
I'll go home and update the other one later.
The price should come down everywhere soon. We'll just have to wait.
And how many people do you think have 250 GB a month? I don't have anywhere near that because it is bloody expensive.
Sorry for the late reply on this, I got the last copy at McPhillips. Primarily got it for the statue, wished the code worked for the PS3 though.
If you can get the disc version do it!
There is only basic play for free and limited items available. Check the website for more info on F2P DC UNIVERSE ONLINE.
It's almost OOS everywhere but don't believe the site. I got mine in Hamilton and the site said OOS. It was sitting there on the shelf next to the accessories.
I was at the Yonge/Eglinton location on HALLOWEEN and they had games in their bin that were OOS on the site.
I won't say that you should make the trip but if you are in the area, worth a shot.
OOS in Calgary
LIAR !!!
It's $9.97 !!!
Website is changing into F2P.
Lots of deals on PS3 copies around.
Futureshop had the collectors edition for $9.99

DCU Online isn't officially free yet so physical copies are going for retail price ($20-30). When the games goes free, digital copies will be free but except heavy traffic the first week. DCU was a financial flop, gong free in its first year. Walmart realized they won’t make any money when the game goes free, so they’re dumping old copies.
i know u don't have to pay online to play anymore (except for certain features)...
the physical copy.. how much is it going for? is it also free to download online? why is it cheap in walmart?
I sorry that you cannot rise above petty name calling (which I believe is against the rules, you might want to read them again as I understand they can change from time to time) but I won't report your posts... I understand people can get angry for no real reason, road rage and all...
Try to have a great day;
Kr0z
And the jerkwad behavior continues...
Personally, I don't really care how socially maladjusted you are, as it takes all kinds, just DO NOT expect RFD to bend over backwards to help a smart-mouthed jerkwad. I'm working from home today, and have both 5-cent copies of PC and PS3 right here beside me...
Seeing as how my post was in the triple digits and multiple requests had already been made for the UPC code I find your comment all nice and fluffy but without any useful information...
I was a jerkwad for pointing out that a $10 gift card was not suprising when you complain at Walmart? I thought I contributed info to the thread by pointing out that its a pretty easy accomplishment, one attainable by just about anyone... Perhaps I was a jerkwad when I finally got the UPC code for the PS3 version of the game...
Thank you for pointing out I was a meanie, let me apoligize whole heartedly from every fiber of my being. I will be sure that going forward all of my posts are super happy, full of useful information and supportive just like all the other posts on rfd. I will rub kittens on my keyboard and swear to take meanie management classes ASAP. I had a lapse in judgement when I thought I was dealing with adults who had well developed coping skills and life experiences allowing them to deal with other people.
Again, my apoligies for any miss understandings.
Wow... If I was the first person to ask for the UPC code in this thread (I wasn't) or on these forums (I wasn't) I could understand the hostility...
No need to do the research when I can get someone else to do it for me.
Anywhoooo.
UPC code for the PS3 is : 814582415226
now if only someone could find the upc for the pc version... Bueller....
Bueller......

Sure your not...
So can we get a UPC code.
Bueller... bueller.....
Your suprised about this? It S.O.P. (Standard operating procedure) for Walmart. When you file an issue it gets routed through home office and sent to the specific store as well as the area manager. The store has a timeline to respond and a script. Its followed up by the area manager with the store manager because they want to keep whin... I mean customers happy with Target coming to Canada.
Its why you can get anything within reason from a store manager if you are at the customer desk, they are going to be told to fix it if you send in a complaint anyway so why not just give in and not have to listen to you moan and complain over the phone later as they will be told to kiss your backside...
The manager was more concerned about getting you name off their list than what you had to say and had they been in when you were shopping you would have got what you wanted to negate the potential letter.
And the gift card? My guess was $10 -$20 depending on the level of "what's gonna get me off the phone quicker" scale. You sound like a $10.
A manager called me this morning, apologized profusely and offered me a gift card to resolve the problem. I won't say how much, but it is more than the 10 cents I would have spent.
Very impressed with the service. I totally thought the issue was dead and my feedback had been round filed. The manager told me that if he had been working that morning, he would have given the games to me. He honestly seemed very concerned.
As far as I know, it'll be the same benefits from being a "subscriber" for 30 days, when it's free to play.
I'm confused.. I bought the DC Universe Online PC for a Christmas gift. Do we have to activate it now before Free To Play starts if we wish to receive Legendary membership? Or can we activate after Christmas?
