    • Note that Staples has the same deal this and you could likely find a coupon to increase the deal.

Best Buy has promo on Google Home Mini. Buy 2 and get $60 off, so that works out to $50 each. Except for Black Friday last year, this is about the cheapest it's been.

There is another promo if you buy a single Google Home Mini at full price $80, you get $30 off a TPLink smart plug accessory. But it seems you cannot combine the 2 promos. So as an example, the HS105 (mini-plug) would be $4.99 after discount and of course you need to buy the mini as well.
Guess you missed the $29.99 deal for one

    • I was in the midst of posting this but THE SOURCE has taken the listing down completely. Google mini will not show up upon search.

      $9.99 each. Lol

Guess he doesn't have a time machine.
Plus, that was a price error with a coupon that shouldn't have been applied in top of the promotion.

    • Do people really use these? Whenever I talk to people they always just ask about weather or setting a timer... are these actually useful?

And it only lasted for about 3 hours before Best Buy corrected the error.

We don't use ours that much, I use my Echo 2 more. Have the GH, and 3 minis. Although, they will be going in the kids rooms, so they can set their own alarms, listen to music, etc.
I guess with the recipe function now, it does step by step? I didn't read the whole email, but something to the effect that it will tell you the steps and wait for you to ask it to continue to the next?

Yes, they're useful. I even bought a 2nd one in that $30 price error deal, and I sometimes wish I had more to provide whole-house coverage, but that would make the investment more than it's worth. I don't think they're worth more than $50 though given the actual hardware content and past pricing history, so this x2 for $100 deal is the probably the highest price I would pay.

I use it to control my home automation system, turning things on and off and setting the lighting and the security system.

I use it with my stereo system to select and play music and stations, or just to provide quiet background music through the GH speaker.

I use it when I'm getting up in the morning, to turn up the lights gradually, brief me on my upcoming day, and start the coffee machine.

I use it to set timers and reminders.

When we have guests and we're sitting around chatting, we often throw a question Google's way, and it can usually answer. I do that less when I can more easily type it into a web browser and get back a more comprehensive answer though.

    • My girlfriend and I use this a fair bit. We like to use it for our shopping list, reminders, alarms and to control the light switches and thermostat. We also like to ask a trivial medical and definition questions.

Edit: oh yeah, and you can control the Chromecast with it.

I use mine quite a bit. Mostly to listen to Spotify or podcasts in the kitchen. It's also nice to add things to my Google Shopping List verbally. It does cooking measure conversions for me when my hands are messy or occupied. It does a pretty good job of answering trivia questions. We also used it to surprise my kids the morning we took them to Disney World. I actually want another one for the bedroom and my son wants one for his room to listen to music.

    • Bought 3 from the source in december when they were 39.99, but the math worked out like this:

      39.99
      39.99
      39.99
      ---------
      119.97
      - 12.00 (10% off Partner Saving Program)
      - 25 off 100+ coupon
      ---------
      82.97 + tax
      = 27.65 + tax per.

Was super happy about that :)
