    • This one is better than 2019 Air, IMO.

      IMO too.
      • For media consumption, 4 speakers are way better than 2 and the size gives audio some stereo separation.
      • Then there is 120Hz screen <3 + Better GPU + 1GB extra ram
      • That said, I've read of some panel issues but my guess would be that Apple would be helpful in those cases as it's a known issue.
      • The biggest loss, IMO, is the A12 Bionic chip with the neural engine. That may be somewhat of a loss in futureproofing it. But hey, the A10X chip ain't no slouch and I've used a Mini 2 for 6 years without a hitch, so fingers crossed :)

I'm getting this, though I'm slightly worried about clearance during Prime Day or BF.
Also, I have a Mac and with SideCar coming in the next OS iteration, this will be a brilliant 2nd screen :D

A 256GB for $599.99 would be hot beyond words, at least to me

      Huh?

A10x vs A12, how is this better?

This is long overdue. Ever since 2019 Ipad Air came out, there is no reason (I know of) why anyone would buy iPad Pro 10.5.

      https://www.macrumors.com/guide/2019-10 ... -ipad-pro/
2017 iPad Pro might not be as fast as A12 but A10x is still "fast enough". Plus the speaker and the 120hz screen. Makes it better at certain usecase compared to Air.

It is not objectively better in every ways, but it is also not worse. They are comparable with pros and cons.

Are the refurbished ones on the Apple site the same as this one?

      https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FQDY ... 0baef23e24
EDIT: That's the US site. CA price is $619.99 for 64GB.

FYI, in case anyone doesn't know, prefer to buy from Apple when feasible because if a product has been purchased from their store stock they'll replace it without a hassle in case an issue cannot be resolved i.e. without sending to their warehouse for a check. Did that with my XR.

As the poster stated above yours, Promotion screen, 4 speakers plus you get 1 extra GB ram, better GPU, camera and the screen is brighter but there is a known issue with bright spots on the pro that people are hoping was fixed on the Air

The A10x has a better gpu. The difference in cpu is negligible in everyday use. Also the 120 hz display alone makes it superior to the air. Once you experience this there is no going back. Along with 4 speakers, way better camera etc.

That too. 😜. No bright spots on mine. It’s a refurb from apple.

The new pro is a complete redesign so everything is different, It will depend on your usage if the $400 price difference is worth the upgrades, like the design, USB C and Face ID and faster CPU speed, Apple Pencil 2.

      Technically, every app.
Those figures are peak performance figures, so take them with a pinch of salt when looking at everyday use.

Games and editing apps would be the most effected.
If you transfer in your own videos from a desktop and play it over apps like VLC, the GPU will come into play.

    • If you get one of these, make sure you get AppleCare with it because the screen could develop a bright spot or spots. It happened to me and I didn't abuse the device. It's been happening to lots of others also.

      Here's a thread on Macrumors about the issue, https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/br ... n.2115037/

Apple replaces devices without much hassle. I got a brand new replacement and promptly sold it. It happened to me in the second year.
