    • Dang that's not a bad deal. Kinda wish I didn't pull the trigger on a 4TB Seagate not long ago.

    • Red drives now have exactly the same hardware as other models, but the firmware is tweaked slightly for use in a NAS. For example the heads are given a little more settling time on track to allow for vibration transmitted from other drives in the same enclosure.

    • not a bad deal for a console update for storage. 5tb on your ps4 is pretty good.

    • ...sooo who's buying this? I don't need the extra storage right now, but will by next year, debating whether I should buy it. Hesitating since not much info on these drives.

    • If these Red drives are more suited to be used in a NAS, that means they're not good as Xbox drives, right?

This drive requires a power source as well, so I think the Seagate deal is still good depending on what you need

    • i guess this can be removed from the case and use on a desktop or NAS.

this is very tempting. just bought a new NAS and this will be good. Or should I wait for the 8tb to go on sale.

    • Is this a Frankenstein drive? I thought WD made it hard to retrieve any data after the drive starts to fail.
