A few product features include:

  • 11-inch edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display with ProMotion, True Tone and wide colour

      That's why I bought the 2018.

      Takeaway
While a lot seems to have changed with the new iPad Pro models, a lot has also stayed the same.
The designs, screens and battery life seem very similar to the previous generation, but the iPad Pro 2020 has a newer, more powerful chipset, an extra camera lens, and a LiDAR scanner, as well as more base storage and a lower price at the top end.

    • I love the design of the 2018 iPad Pro so much. The refurb is definitely worth it.

    • Just ordered one as well. The difference in price is too much to justify the 2020 ipad, if a new screen different story but personally i have no use for AR and the camera. Nice find! thanks!

    • This is a nice price for 2018 pro, the 2020 doesn't look to be a big upgrade. Too bad I don't want to spend on anything unnecessary at this moment.

    • I still think the 2017 10.5 pro is worth it especially at $499. It'll still be a powerhouse in 2020 and do everything you need and has a beautiful screen to boot. I think the mini 5 is too small personally and the regular 7th Gen iPad is not worth it.

I agree and support, though another way to look at it is "hey, if we are to be stuck at home and follow the news for a few months anyways"....

    • Biggest reasons to go for a Pro vs a Standard iPad?

Screen resolution mainly. Also I believe the pro has dynamic refresh rates (so slower when you read, but faster when you're watching videos).

From the pure value perspective 2017 10.5 Pro at $499 is probably the best one, yes.

    • I was patiently waiting for the new iPad pro 12.9", the entry model (128gb/6gb) is close to 1500$ after QC taxes. I picked the 2018 64gb/4gb for 1033$ all inc.

      Thanks OP.

Quad speakers, once you get quality sound it's hard to go back.

    • What do you guys usually use the iPad Pro for? Do you guys recommend using an iPad pro in place of a computer? I only do basic browsing and media consumption, maybe some Excel or Google sheets. I don't game or do any editing.

Then a regular iPad would probably do those things just fine. I use mine for taking notes. Watching vidyas. Streaming videos from my windows machine to my iPad so I can watch my library in bed.

Personally for me though, a tablet is never going to replace a desktop setup. I think iPads are great because they're more powerful than barebones Chromebooks but more portable than full fledged windows laptops. It fills that gap nicely for what I need it for while having a bit more processing power than Chromebooks.

For me - media consumption only.
News apps, Skype, Netflix, Prime Video.

    • Nice, the $499 model still has that 3.5mm headphone jack.

    • Hmm, I want one that has more than 64GB, but the 256 refurb is $899 , so it might be worth it to get the 2020 for $150 more. The Lidar thing has me intrigued too.

    • Anybody have theirs bend before? I have the 2017 pro but wanted the new versions for the better pencil integration. Although these refurbs aren't really that cheaper than the new ones.
