View allWhat is the proper way to do this without paying for a month of overlap?
I have 2TB iCloud and want to switch over to the Apple One bundle with 2TB without losing my data.
My Music subscription has always renewed on the 30th, my iCloud storage on the 4th, and my Arcade on the 23rd.
The music and arcade I didn't touch. During November they both showed their usual renewals dates but also stated they would become part of One come November 30.
My iCloud storage I initially downgraded to the free option prior to Nov 4th, since I was getting 2TB from One. Took a day or so to reflect it in early November, but the storage did downgrade and I didn't pay for its monthly renewal on Nov 4.
Sure enough, Nov 30, music and arcade disappeared from my subscriptions, and One dropped to the expired section. I clicked on it and chose to subscribe and it activated and charged me on the 30th.
Actually just looked at my purchase history. My arcade renewal on the 23rd of November was refunded after the One subscription started.
Thankfully, I was able to deal with some competent folks over the phone that we're able to help me out. (took me just over an hour). I got my full refund back but didn't ask for more. The initial lady on the phone was supppppeeeerrr sweet. She was like "Can I please add some free movies or some Itunes credit to your account", I refused. She was just way too kind! She acknowledged that they should not have cancelled my account, should've just refunded it.
The rep and supervisor on the Apple chat were horrendous. They kept saying I requested a refund which is why it was cancelled and there was nothing they can do about it. I asked the supervisor multiple times to point in my request where I said to provide me a full refund and to cancel my request? She responded with "sorry, we're not able to help you, you would have to wait 48 hours to have Apple One added back". Terrible customer service!
They said I will get a prorated refund if there's time remaining on my Apple Music sub when Apple One moves to a paid sub
I asked for a refund because you triple charged me, where did I say I wanted to cancel? No where did I say this. Customer Service experience with them this morning/afternoon has been horrendous! She refused to help me out, filed a complaint on my behalf and exited the chat. Didn't even thank me or say bye LOL. I wrote a nice little tweet to Apple Support.
Lazy ass customers service
The "icloud" storage, is treated as extra and in addition to Apple One.
Then downgrade or remove the "extra" icloud storage. That way you prevent any future double charges.... (hopefully).
Really un-apple
Im going to be pissed if they can't recover my data/music
do i sign up for my apple 1 subscription and then downgrade my icloud plan? honestly im okay if i have a sketchy one month i just don't want to get charged double on the regular or lose any of my stored data at all.
The rep refused 3 times, saying that I was supposed to cancel the 2tb myself and they cannot do anything about it.
They also did mention that the only thing they can do is cancel everything, which I refused and fought on.
After insisting each time that this was not clearly stated, they offered to refund the icloud charge (13.99) and offered 2 itunes movie rentals (up to $5.99) .
So they "can" fix the issue, if anyone else walks into problems.
Apple triple charged me on Music, my storage and Apple One. I e-mailed them letting them know and they cancelled my subscription for everything. I literally lost all my data. Did anyone have any issues with this?
I've been back and forth with them but their Customer Service team fails to understand what they did. It seems as if I'm talking to a robot. Really sucks!
Something like $3.99 or $4.99/mo for this alone, as I don't want YT Music.
It’s still new though so I’m not sure. Maybe it will get sorted soon. Maybe it’ll go back to blocking it completely.
Thanks for letting me know you’re having same issue though.
I’m having an issue. It appears to have all gone well. It let me add the person so I though it worked, But now then they try to use it it asks them to subscribe to the service. So if they try to watch a show on tv+ it asks them to subscribe/pay for the service.
You having any issues ?
The iCloud 2TB service is handy for all the iOS devices backing themselves up. Between my daughter, wife, me and my in-laws I think there are a solid 8 iPhones and iPads using it.
No worries though we are saving and have more modules now so no biggie.
