    • FYI, if you're looking to watch Amazon Prime Video content on your TV, Amazon recently allowed people with the Prime Video app on their phones to cast shows on their Google Chromecast. This might be useful if you already have this device.

    • Another thing to note - Fire TV now has an official YouTube app again!

    • You can also always cast prime video from you PC via chrome to your Chromecast device.

    • Is the 4K worth buying over the standard even if your TV is not 4K? Seems as though the performance might be better but wondering if any RFDers have noticed this in actual usage.

It's faster and has Atmos support, if you're tight on funds, then get the regular one and then upgrade it when you eventually get a 4k or whatever TV.

    • I think this cheaper than black Friday?

    • I have both. 4K is definitely faster and worth the difference in price.

If you really want to save, the non-4K also does the job nicely. I got them only for the ability of screen-mirroring (that 4K version does not support)

It is since its way faster than the non 4k one and you will be future proof!

    • I have the regular and the 4k, and don't see a huge difference other than the 4k seems slightly faster navigating. But I also have it wired vs Wi-Fi on the other stick

It's much better to install the Smart Youtube TV apk for free to get a YouTube app that's completely ad-free.

    • Anyone in Canada able to watch the Prime Day Concert with their FireTV? I didn't see it listed, rarely use it.
Possibly it's due to my FireTV being purchased from the USA many years ago

    • Great device... far superior and more fun than ROKU IMO. Will buy a few more..
      Thanks OP!

    • Great device. Don't give to parents for IPTV, especially tech-illiterate mothers.

      Otherwise great.

    • Thanks OP. I was hoping that Fire TV Stick would go on sale during Prime Days. This is discounted more than I was hoping for.

I don't have a 4K TV yet but I think that 4K stick is a better option for few more bucks. Plus, as someone pointed out, this is future proof.

    • Why does the link take me to Amazon.com? This issue is still not fixed (it's posted in the site suggestions forum). Gonna make prime days a blast

      Yes, better hardware.

    • 4K is worth it even if you don't have a 4K TV. Yet. ;)

    • I have 2 of the pendant type 4K Fire Sticks and a couple of the 1080P versions.
      The 4K are faster/more responsive.

The 1080Pp version is OK for a bedroom TV - we even have a 1080p version on our (crappy $88 on Boxing Day Door Crasher at Badboy - 32" 720p) kitchen TV.

Here's what's rumoured to be available on Prime Day on Amazon.COM:
