    • This might not be a bad deal on its own, but the google home was available for this price multiple times. Compared to that, this dot isn’t looking so hot

    • I have both Alexa and GH throughout my condo.
The Echo Dot with clock is truly a great device.

    • I don't understand why google hasnt come up with something so simple yet (the clock) . Even the full size google home doesnt have this. Simple feature that most will love.

    • I have the echo show 5 and I love it. Speaker is great and using the screen to watch prime videos or YouTube videos or to do video calls is great.

No problem! Amazon Alexa has better smarthome integration in my opinion.

The dot with clock in the bedroom for privacy and show 5 in another room for me to view camera footage of my front or back door in the living room or for recipes in the kitchen

They are two different things. However 59.99 is not a good price. It was 2 for 100 plus a free board game a few weeks ago

I did this also back in the fall. Was not happy with alexa however there was a few things i miss now.
The major thing was my amcrest cameras worked with the show 5 no problem,With google its not compatible.

The clock idea is a great one and not sure why google still hasn't. Not that it matters to me i have the hubs throughout the house but its still a good idea.

One thing thats been driving me nut is lately google has not been hearing things properly or just says sorry try again later. (hey google turn on the movie room lights) Im sorry you dont have this set up.Sometimes 3 or 4 times we have to ask. Sometimes it just doesnt hear us even say (Hey Google)

    • Will this work with Spotify Premium?

Lots of bad reviews for Spotify but could be user errors lol.

Yeah, that's what made me get a cheap echo - just to turn masterbedroom lights off (smarthings hub + bulb). The switch was too far away from the bed lol.

I have Google Nest Hubs which have the big screen and full size clock. Bought for $67 when the local Lowe's abandoned this area. The minis are just okay. The only thing I don't like about the Google over the Alexa is they still haven't fixed the context usage. Turn on the light and turn the light on should be equal. They aren't. One will result in no lights coming on, the other works flawlessly. But the Hub is a godsend. I use it for just about everything. If I had cameras, I'd use it for that too. Of late, I've been using it to figure out temperature calculations for the inside of my house so I can set my new air conditioner to optimal settings. Works great!
