    • My wife is playing walkabout mini golf right now she's loving it

It's a great game to play with friends too I paid full price 3 days ago before the sale and I'm not even mad, the 2 days of fun I had with friends playing mini putt and searching for lost balls was worth the full price easily in my mind

    • Thanks for the feedback. I'm still on the fence but with Amazon returns possible, I may give it a try and send it back if it doesn't work for me. In your experience, did you find the Quest 2 w/stock strap more comfortable to wear than the Gear VR?
I found the Quest 2 a bit more well balanced, but I also got the BoboVR M2 strap with the halo design that is much better to alleviate the front heaviness.

    • I had a Samsung Gear VR and I used it a couple times before storing it away too. But the Quest 2 I use it several times a week. It is on a whole different level with 6 DoF tracking, motion controllers, and software quality. If you don't like the stock strap, there is the Elite Strap and many other 3rd party straps that will make it feel more comfortable.

    • how does oculust compare to the vr sets where you put your phone in back for $29.99? ive owned one of those and thought it was cool.

oculust, if i get this one, does it come with any free games or do i need to keep buying? im not a gamer, so for 399, just wanted access to some cool things, but dont want it to turn in to 399 ++++++ for games.
Phone VR and Oculus Quest 2 have no comparison. WIth Oculus Quest 2, you can walk around in a virtual space with hands/controllers tracked. There are some free games you can download and a few demos that come with it. For example Rec Room, Bigscreen VR, Echo Arena are free.

Thanks OP! I'm a huge VR enthusiast and have owned the Oculus Go, the Quest 1 and now the Quest 2.

Bought the Quest 2 last year, NO REGRETS and would not HESITATE to buy another one ASAP if this one fails out of warranty.

I've also been using this for PC VR gaming - feel free to Ask Me Anything on the topic - if I know it, I will share.😃

I highly suspect there are going to be Oculus 2 Black Friday sales, likely right on oculus.com as well. Something to keep an eye on there - they offer free shipping and price INCLUDES tax.

      Cheers!

    • First experience with Oculus Quest 2 or any VR headset.

Game graphics, text are nice and clear.
But I find "VR Experiences" type apps or movies quite blurry.
The Brink Traveler looks amazing on Youtube review, but in my Quest, while the 3D effect is amazing, the scenery is bit blurry.
So many reviews talked about realism of being there - I don't share the same feeling as the scenery is not sharp.
Same for VR movies - no matter it is 4K 8K or 12K, and I tried adjusting the resolution to the highest, it is still not sharp.

I understand that it would take insane amount of pixels to get sharp images when blown up to such a scale.
Is this just the limitation of current technology?
Maybe my expectation was too high?

I also read about adjusting resolution using sidequest - but you would have to do this every time you turn on, and some games would lag or stutter in this high resolution.
Yes, your expectations are way to high for $400. Buy this instead
      PiMax

Are you using the Quest 2 as a standalone or are you using your PC to power the games/apps and sending it to your Quest 2? In Steam VR settings you can increase the resolution of apps and downsample it to significantly increase the quality of the image. You should be using the new RTX GPU's as the new minimum for VR before voicing any complaints

    • Played around with my old Samsung Gear VR last night. I never used it much due to the low quality visuals, but thought I'd give it another shot before pulling the trigger on the Quest 2. After 1 hour, the Gear VR feels extremely uncomfortable and I had to take it off. Too much pressure on my face, and also got a bit of a headache. Would the Quest 2 feel more comfortable? Don't want to buy it and end up putting it on a shelf collecting dust.

      Why not.

Just create a Facebook account and buy the games you want, when you get the headset just login with same account and download

    • Why can't you play steam vr through air-link? I'm doing it fine
I must be doing it wrong. I get my desktop oculus through my airlink but I can't get to my desktop from there? Either way, I'm able to play games I've downloaded as well this way and also get to experiment with higher settings within VD.

    • I can play steam vr through virtual desktop where i can't with the built-in air link. Also can play games, through other means, because I'm able to launch whatever on my desktop.

      - Population One (battle Royale) & Onward (kinda like Squad on PC? ) for $49.
      - Vader Trilogy
      - The Room (Must buy IMO)
      - Synth Riders

    • Depending on what your budget for upgrades is, the Frankenquest adapter is basically a must have.
It's $20 (plus $140 for the HTC Deluxe Audio Strap) but it's one of the best (if not the best) head thing available for the Quest.
I bought an adjustable head thing and a halo and they both were okay. But I also have a fat head.
FrankenQuesting the thing made it VERY comfortable.
The HTC Deluxe Audio Strap is on sale for $109.00, sold and shipped by Amazon.

      Try this:

      Your text to link here...

Credit was automatically applied to it, very happy, now just need some adapters.

    • Can I buy an Amazon gift card and send it to myself to buy anything? Surely an Amazon gift card is bought and sold by Amazon.
It doesn't work with Amazon gift cards as per the Terms and Conditions.

However... it appears to work for other gift cards. I just tried putting Tim Horton's and also tried with Apple gift cards, both accepted the credit as payment.

The credit applied to the items in my cart that say "Ships from and sold by Amazon.ca". I'd start checking for anything that has that tag.
