LMAO @ Soccerboy! Nice one.
I'll tell you guys a story. One of my friend made a to-do list in Onenote and wanted only that note to open at startup. After fiddling around with it for a few mins, only one thing came to mind, garbage. Installed Evernotes, followed these steps: http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/13 ... p/?p=66554 , now he has a note with todo tag that opens every time computer starts. The best part is you can set multiple notes with a common tag open at start in a nice organized list.
Some people like what they have been using for a while but try both and see what works for you. I am pretty sure most people will think that Evenote with it's light interface and single executable at startup is good enough. For me Windows native sticky notes is good enough. OneNote is counter productive for me lol.
onenote ios is also very nice.
the only complaint is that the webclipper of onenote is a joke. nothing compared to evernote's clipper
Micro$oft giving away OneNote free is just a sinister move since they know Evernote has gained far more ground than their own paid product. Their only interest here is to force the competition out. As for the fanboy comment, I'll like to see your reaction when Micro$oft one day either closes OneNote or moves it back to a paid premium product. They've done it before and they'll do it again. People who don't believe this will be caught with their pants down.
Loved using it when I was in university, kept all my notes in one place. Having different tabs for subjects and stuff was sweet.
For Android users, Evernote is a over priced a P.O.S. when you need to access notes in the subway. The offline capabilities in OneNote Android make it superior than Evernote in this aspect. Also the note taking experience is more of a joy than the Evernote experience. It's diluted to the simplest most often use functions of note taking. The organization of notes is pretty primitive in OneNote but one you start writing a note, it's pretty good.
I really want to be able to perform awesome workflow options like WindowsKey + N to perform quick OneNote's without having to open the browser and click several times to access OneNote online. That's why I wanted to buy it.
A simple search of recent evernote vs. OneNote reviews tells the story.
most people with win 8 tablets equipped with styli do agree onenote is understated in terns of functionality and doc management capability
