Set to be released on August 24, this 32" monitor is an excellent value for gamers or those looking for more screen space for work, as it features QHD resolution (2560x1440) with a 144Hz refresh rate and support for AMD FreeSync Premium. • 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium virtually eliminates screen-tearing and stuttering for a fluid gaming experience
  • Two HDMI 2.0 inputs and one DisplayPort 1.2 input for flexible connectivity
  • VESA support so you can mount the monitor with VESA-compatible accessories

    • Is this a better monitor than the LG IPS flat 32in one that pops back in stock here and there at Costco for $299.99?

      costco-lg-qhd-32-inch-monitor-299-99-2390909/

      MVA vs IPS
      6bit+FRC vs 8bit+FRC
      144hz vs 75hz
      Curved vs Flat

I assume the ViewSonic is much more capable gaming wise. Does the 6 vs 8 bit matter much if I do light photo/video editing work though in terms of color accuracy? Contrast?

Mixed gaming, editing, media consumption use case for me.

For the specific monitors you listed:
Gaming I would use this ViewSonic, or even dark scene movie watching.
For media and everything else i woukd go for the LG.

    • Bruh I'm so conflicted on whether I should get this or not lmaooo. I'm in the market for a monitor like this, but it feels so wrong to just buy something without thought. Exactly how urgently good is this deal?

I'm so tempted because I'm looking for a WFH monitor to do my CS classes on, but I mean idk what to feel about a curved VA screen. They don't look as good as an IPS iirc, right? 144hz is really tempting though, I want that buttery smooth coding hahaha.

    • Would 32" be too massive for FPS gaming?

    • The only main con I see is 250 nits brightness, which is the lowest end for monitors these days.

In my experience of a different 250 nits display, it was slightly uncomfortably dim in a sun-lit room. No issues when using in the dark.

I'm using a 26in normal flat monitor beside a 38in 21:9 monitor and its fine.. I was worried about that as well.

    • Make sure you have a video card that can output before impulse buy. Otherwise prepare to upgrade computer

    • Currently using a 32" QHD 75hz freesync monitor. Would a jump from 75 to 100+ be a noticeable difference? 30fps to 60fps is night and day. Does that hold true for anything 60+? Can't tell a difference from 60fps to 70fps.

    • attractive price, but I need something bigger, like 38 would be ideal.

You will notice a difference in smoothness when playing fps games but make sure your video card can drive it to 100+ fps.
