See Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with the galaxy's most useful astromech droid with this deal from Cineplex, because you can get an R2-D2 Droid Popcorn and Drink Holder for $49.99 and get free refills every day until January 31, 2020!

These limited-edition R2 units stand approximately 40cm tall and can be found at Cineplex concession stands across Canada. The miniature droid is also capable of holding a medium-size popcorn and drink inside two built-in compartments!

That's not all, because when you purchase your own Artoo, you can get a free popcorn and drink refill every day from your date-of-purchase until January 31! For reference, a standalone medium popcorn and drink is regularly $7.19 and $3.49 (respectively), which means you'll break even if you redeem free refills at least five times.

There are some restrictions, as there's a limit of one free refill per day and any unused days cannot be stacked.

R2-D2 Droid Popcorn and Drink Holders are only available for a limited time, while supplies last -- click here to find the Cineplex theatre nearest you.

    • Im thinking you might have to actually see a movie every day to qualify for the refill?

    • Nope. you can go into a Cineplex and just buy food. So you can get a free refill every day on popcorn and drink until January 31st, 2020. If you consider a similar combo is well over $10 I think this is a pretty hot deal, no?

I suppose if you live right by a Cineplex, you will get you money's worth, however i'd rather just have the R2D2 for $20 itself....!

Mate how much do you think popcorn costs? Even if you’re right beside Cineplex, it would still be a lot cheaper (and less hassle) to pop your own at home. Popcorn every single day would probably be $10 or so.

There are a lot more Starbucks around. Sure you can get a daily refill (is it popcorn and/or a drink?) but you'd have to go to a theatre.

Oh good, you just made me feel better! I was wondering if it was ok to want something that was not a good deal. lol

I was even trying to calculate how often I would have to get refills to make it ok to overspend on a popcorn bucket. Would I be able to make 10+ trips? =)

I guess there are more daily Starbucks drinkers than popcorn+pop people but this still isn't a bad deal, especially if you see a lot of movies.

Same thing could be said about coffee, and people purchasing at a store instead of brewing it in house

    • If you eat enough greasy popcorn and drink enough fountain drinks you can put something else in R2-D-TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    • Could be good. I live a few minutes away from the theater. Unused popcorn becomes bird food as there isn't much food for my winged friends in the winter. I'll have to look into it...

    • I picked this up on Saturday night, its awesome. I got the popcorn and pop separately as to not dirty the container, and didn't realize until I got home that the top is for the drink and you can separate it. Got a refill after my movie, I believe I was the first one to buy one at my theater so they were a little murky on the details, but the manager assured me all I had to do was to show up with the R2 unit at any Cineplex Theater and I would get my free refills. Great value for anyone near a theater, or who is planning on going to several movies over the holiday season. As a side note, Knives Out was fun and I recommend it.
