Wait till later, this should go up considerably I think. Otherwise maybe we can take advantage of the US trade-in w/ cross border shipping services.

Because this is an additional offer beyond what the general population can (is eligible) to get.

While it may not be a good deal, pre order bonus, airmiles and stuff is somewhat of a deal. No?

Did you ship your phone directly from Canada for trade-in? No problems? And I'm assuming you picked it up in the US or used a border pickup service?

    • For the people who are thinking of going to the US to do the "up to $700 trade-in", here is a repost of mines from the Note 10 launch. I'm not saying it can't work out for you, but based on my post, for most people, I believe it is not worth it at all. Please note, this is a repost from Note 10 launch, but I see parallels & expect it to not be worth it for overwhelming majority of people, in the example I showed, it was actually cheaper in Canada than in the US:

"As I said, even if we assume you sell the note 9 for $750 or lets say $700, you are still better off trading in a flip phone for $200 off instead of trading in your note 9. If you trade in flip phone, you are essentially getting $200 for nothing. If you trade in your note 9 for $800 ($600 USD, US deal), you are really only getting $100 bonus (if you would've sold it for $700) or $50 bonus (if you would've sold it for $750). The smart move is to trade in crap phone for $200, it will give you more savings rather than trading in your Note 9 (compared to selling it yourself).

      1000 USD - 600 USD Trade in = 400 USD
400x US sales tax (8.875% for NY, closest border for me as I'm from Toronto)
      = $435 USD x 1.35
      = $587 + duty (about $75)
= $662 Cdn + gas, time, etc. For me to go roundtrip from Toronto to Buffalo, New York is about $50 in gas, + my time
= $712 + time (a few hrs to drive there, probably will need to stop to eat along the way, then drive back, minimum 6 hr commitment)

      $1467.87 CAD - $200 trade in = $1268 Cdn
      $1268 - $700 or $750 (sell Note 9 yourself on RFD)
      = $518 - $568 Cdn

Lets ignore the time consideration of having to drive to NY state & back (I'm from Toronto BTW). Also, even if you don't have to pay the NY state sales tax, thats only $35 USD. It would still be better to trade in a crap flip phone for $200, & sell the Note 9 on RFD for $700 or $750."

PS: The Ultra is way, way too much money

I might get mine via corporate carrier trade-in... we'll see what Rogers provides. The phone will be 'free' again, but 'free' is a relative term in business.

The 865 kills the 855+ and destroys the 855. You've pre-sold me, gents.

    • I'd consider getting this if 5g was actually available and no extra cost for 5g data service. But it's not. It's like getting an 8k tv without media that supports it.
Warning: I got a usa Samsung from the American trade in. You ship them the phone to find out they wont honor the trade because of a tiny scratch. Also, updates and app compatibility has some issues with Canadian providers. You will get usa samsung pay , etc
