View allthe rep said he'd escalate it and the "team" will get back to me in 2 - 3 business days, and then he said "Not to worry about this issue, we will take care of it." so hopefully that means I'll get the card - I did all that was required, plus 1 extra transaction, what more could I have done? It's not my fault the app didn't update the status correctly!
Since we had to register first to be eligible there should not be a sorry we are all out cards possibility...........but feels like Samsung Pay is going to hose me on this one.
I'll say it nicely. You really do get what you pay for.
Just 2 mins ago, i got my 10$ tim's GC via email.
Maybe since I registered earlier this week, they reserved a spot for me since I did 4 purchases already?
I had two transactions left to make but looks like i'm SOL.
Does anyone have an idea how to convert the app into a Canadian?
I'll try clearing the cache. I've resetted the app (it's an option within it, it deletes all the cards and the acts as if opening the app for the first time).
The time I experience the issue and that led me here, the swap "mode" didn't even seem to work. But I was trying to pay with tap to pay at some other place and it wouldn't work, and I placed it near the magnetic reader instead and that worked. If needed I'll do the promo that way...
Anyway, I had issues getting SPay to work on my S7 (US model) but eventually got it to work after clearing the cache for both Samsung Pay Framework and Samsung Pay under Settings > Apps.
:p
In Samsung Pay settings, under Favourite Cards, choose your most used card(s) and set it to swipe from lockscreen (or home screen or even when screen is off).
Makes it a bit faster
I enjoy using Samsung pay because it requires verification to use it. For Google Pay anybody can grab my phone and make purchases which feels insecure to me. Plus, it works that non-tap places which always shocks the cashiers.
Edit: You'd have to make the purchases again. It's possible the app just takes time to update. If you remove the card the purchases you made will probably be forfeited.
After using Google Pay I find Samsung Pay irritating. To use it, you have to unlock the phone, open the app, select the credit card, and scan your fingerprint. It requires too many steps and does not work half the time. The only advantage is that you can use it at Walmart, but when using at Walmart you also have to sign the receipt after it's printed, resulting in a total of five ridiculous steps.
