But to each their own.
I always set all the animations to 0x.
People don't realize that those animations were put there by Apple (and probably others) originally to HIDE the fact that the phone was taking a while to perform the function (so instead of a "frozen" screen it would zoom in or something), it was never originally meant primarily as an aesthetic. Now, like "screen savers" were on desktops it's a feature that people expect but is completely superfluous and actually is detrimental to the perceived speed of your device. I hate the fact that self checkout machines have this shitty animations that just slow down the whole checkout process. I guess people prefer "pretty" over useful.
Give it a try, set all the animations to 0x, your phone will feel like it is flying.
"Prolly" time for you to consider moving to iOS. Just saying :-)
Shocking to hear you have rooted devices... with the poor "prolly" hypothesis on Nova.
Excellent and Thank you. Merry Christmas.
the only options available are either full device lock (Can't be fingerprint unlocked) or some weird time out lock where the screen will go on some rest mode for 5 secs then it'll lock regularly

How does this launcher make my experience better? (aside from hiding the bloatware)
I have DL'd a number of launchers and tried them, briefly, but I never stuck with one and returned to MIUI (familiarity?). I read everywhere that upgrading is a good idea but I am not sure to the 'why'.
well im speaking bout a rooted device , under developers option, u click on .5x animation for the settings, it speeds up phone?
i do like the gestures....one swipe up = open app ie internet fave site
or TWO finger swipe down = auto call your speed dial number
Quick tip: there's a secret Labs menu which can be revealed by holding the volume down button in Nova Settings. One of the useful options in the Labs menu is "allow weather in search bar"
Your apps are on the desktop? Mine are all in the dock I think.
Thanks
Such a clean looking app, if your phone is new you can do so many things with animations, no lag.
Anyways is there a “nova launcher for dummies” somewhere. I’d like to know and learn what each function does.
Thanks
Google will not update this device unfortunately any more than they will update the Nexus Player Android TV box...but they also won't produce replacements for either...
Thanks.
going from oneplus one to oneplus three, i'm surprised to see there was way more functionality in cyanogen mod than there is in oxygen os, at least when it comes to customizing the display. shouldn't be that surprised I suppose since cyanogenmod has way more history than oxygenos. one of the functions missing in my op3 is despite being able to change to higher res by lowering dpi, there's no way in the OS settings to change the number of columns and rows, like there was in cyanogenmod.
that is... until i found nova.
not sure what i need the paid version for though, since the free one achieves pretty much what i want.
Thanks OP, I was waiting for this deal so that I could buy the app again to add it to my family library (my purchase was so long ago it didn't qualify to be added to my library) so now I can use the prime version across all of my android devices.
