    • Pre-ordered Pixel 5. I've had every Nexus and Pixel device. This thread is going to be a mess though.

    • Looks like it will be a fantastic handset, US pricing is $699 so this seems like a deal already.

    • Yeah, it will be a mess. But that goes with every major release. The $100 difference between USD and CAD pricing is already a good start. Direct conversion at the moment would be over $900.

    • What's the advantage, if any, to buy directly from Google than getting a deal through a telco, like Bell, etc?

    • No pre-order incentives at all? Can you buy Google one for 1 month to get 10% off then cancel right away? Would net $65. Can't believe there's no trade in bonus on top of value or freebies like Samsung does.

    • I haven't been following along... is this the first pixel without a notch since those became a thing? Forgot how much better phones look without it.

    • I assume this thread will be moved to shopping discussion?

    • The Pixel 4 with the 90hz screen had major issues with screen uniformity and green/purple tint. The problem is with recent Samsung AMOLED screens. I really doubt Google will have solved this with the Pixel 5.

The Pixel 4a should be safe because it has a 60hz screen.

      Warranty for one.

      In theory.

    • I am surprised how there is only a $100 increase in price from USD to CAD, considered the 4a models both are $180 more.

    • I can't believe they have the same 18W charging they've had since the very first Pixel phone. Talk about pathetic.

Theoretically yes. In reality....depends which country you're in. Canada's roll out of 5G is hodge podge mixed bag depends where you are.

It's really not accurate or fair to judge how 5G is doing at this point, just like every roll out of every new standard.

4G LTE I get 100-200Mbps. 5G should be hitting 600-800Mbps but so far people have been sharing 100-400 at best.

I did that last year when I bought 2 Pixel 3a, but you will have to get 2 months of Google One because you don't get the credits until a month after the purchase if I rememebered correctly. I still ended up saving some this way :)

    • Why would anyone get a Pixel 5 for $799 with a SD 765G. It's funny they didn't mention a single thing about the processor in the presentation. Maybe for $100 less it would make sense.

      This +100.

Underwhelming specs but charging premium prices.

Delays all throughout 2020. Because of "COVID." Pathetic excuse especially coming from a software company in which almost everything they do is online.

      Try again Google.
