    • I wonder if Apple will still sell at $599 given the current usd exchange rate. I could see them holding off for a bit.

    • One rumour has it coming out April 15.

      4.7"

Basically a replacement for the iPhone 8.

iOS 13 isn't really designed for 4" phones. It works, but a lot of stuff just looks way too cramped on 4" iPhones.

    • Love my SE. I wish there was another 4 inch screen with new and improved internal specs

    • Let's just keep a rumour going that it'll launch "next week." Eventually we'll be right! 😜

You'll need to include Virgin Mobile in the list of rumor sites as on Friday they had the new iphone listed as a SIM activation option.

Me too, using a SE as my work phone. Perfect size for what I need it for.

    • I switched from my 6s to the Pixel 3a because I couldn't justify what iPhone products cost. If this phone starts at $600 I'd be all over that. It would be a big shot at Google and the 3a.

    • Watch them increase the price to $649, call it low cost but sell you the idea that it's worth it. Marketing at its finest.

    • Totally worth it as a work phone.

      - screen size, no biggie is a work phone
      - resolution, it's not like you gonna watch movie on a work phone
      - newest processor, doubt apple will cut into that. History says no
      - at least it would be 32gb
      - sell for around 600 bucks, ok

      I can picture Cook...

"We worked so hard, to give you the most powerful iPhone today and we've made it more affordable than ever before. The new iPhone is now only $599." That's US of course so expect it to be $679 CAN.

      lol

    • Wow it's going g to be so expensive? I just sold a new XS on Kijiji for $600. I see bnib iPhone 11 sometimes for 600-700 but I worry Im going g to get scammed. Brandnewxs on eBay is only 700. I was hoping this would beas smallastge iphone4 BUT THIS JUST LOOKS LIKE A REHASH OF THE IPHONE 8 WITHOUT THE advantages of the battery life and the XR and 11's camera.

    • The rumour mills were working overtime last night with predictions that today was going to be the day, but since it's past 8am EDT, it seems the new low-cost iPhone will be not launched until at least tomorrow.

Rumours are consistently putting the new iPhone's price at $399 USD: "The 2020 iPhone SE is expected to cost from just $399, and for that price, you’ll get the iPhone 11’s cutting edge Apple A13 chipset, which still delivers the fastest smartphone performance in the world. Given it uses the same design as the iPhone 8, it will also be by far the most compact smartphone available with such blazing speed."

The latest rumour suggests that the new iPhone will have the same primary camera as the iPhone XR.

Just announced today at 8am Pacific Time / 11am Eastern Time.

      US$399 / CAD$599 -- current exchange rate is around 1.41 not 1.5 😈

NO NIGHT MODE 😈😈😈 (so yeah looks like XR camera not the 11 camera 😈😈😈)

    • $399 USD / $599 CAD.

Solid deal for a phone with fastest chip and one of the best cameras. This is a no brainer upgrade to those coming from 6/7/8 who prefer home button or smaller phone.

Very neat site from Apple comparing to older iPhones:

    • For Canadian customers, the exchange makes no sense. For the new iPhone SE, they're using a 1.50 exchange rate. For the iPad Pro 12.9", they're using 1.30 exchange rate. Actual is around 1.4. What's going on?

The regular iPhone 11 is using 1.4.

Apple generally uses a set-it and forget-it approach to foreign pricing, instead of continually adjusting their pricing to chase the exchange rate. The CAD has been volatile against the USD lately, so they set what they judge to be a "safe" price to accomodate fluctuations.
