    • Apple has announced date for apple event 14/09 so new IP13 and Apple Watch 7 is supposed to released during the event.

Price drop for the Mini 12 or new Mini 13? I thought Apple wasn't making any more minis because of the lackluster sales. I don't have the mini, but I like the option of having a smaller phone.

    • I understand that when Apple introduces a new phone or Watch, it is typically at about the same price as the model it is replacing. Presumably the previous model is discounted. I understand the previous model is sometimes discontinued as well, so the Watch 6 might become unavailable, like the Watch 4 and Watch 5.

Does anyone have a sense of how long it takes for the reduced price to take effect? I am planning to give my Watch 5 to a family member and get a new Watch. I prefer to do that by the end of September and I don’t expect the Watch 7 to be available by then.

If the difference between Watch 6 and Watch 7 is sufficient, I might wait. Otherwise I might just by a reduced-price Watch 6.

All rumours saying the 13 mini will be coming. That’s what I’m aiming for as the more efficient processor will result in slightly better battery life.
12 mini is a no brainer if there is no 13

    • Apple gets me every year. Nope. Not to this time. 2022 iPhone rumours sound like that might be worth waiting for.

    • Design changes are usually the trigger for me.

Phones in general are so good that most the time, getting a new phone is kind of meh unless there is big change like no-more home button.

The general 12 Design will likely stick around for a while....maybe this year they'll just change to titanium or something as it's just a "S" year, so it will look pretty much identical.

I didn't get the 12 so maybe this year is the year I upgrade. I like camera improvements so hopefully they'll add OIS for the ultra-wide or sensor shift stabilization (only on the wide lens Pro Max at the moment)

When the Series 1 became available to buy, we went into the Apple store and they were selling the "series 0" at a discount as it was discontinued but there was remaining stock. It's best to call the store and ask.

Camera and battery are the two considerations for me. Will be getting the 13Pro for my wife. She's been running the X since launch. I tend to switch yearly but offset the cost by selling my old model.

    • Will there be price drop for existing devices??

    • there usually is a modest price drop, so if you can get something at a deep discount already then you probably won't do better than that after the release of the new stuff.

    • Apple is only offering up to $905 trade-in for the 12 in Canada.

    • Things to notice...

      - The iPhone 11 which replaces the XR on the low (non-SE) tier is $20 less than what the XR had been. The XR in 2020 started at $700 while this year the 11 starts at $680.
      - At the same 128GB storage size, the iPhone 13 is only $80 more than the 12. The 13 128GB is $1,100 while the 12 128GB is $1,020.

I was hoping for a deeper price cut to the 12 but I guess I'll be getting the 13 now. The $20 savings on the 11 is a small but nice touch as I'll be getting a couple of those for my parents.

    • I’m not sure what to do now. I was going to give my iPhone 11 Pro to my son who is in desperate need of a new phone and I was going to get the iPhone 13 Pro.

But given the price of the 13 Pro and the lack of huge changes, wondering if I’m better off just buying another iPhone 11 for my son. Curious on people’s feedback on this.

    • Pretty decent pricing on the 13 models. Looks like the iphone 13 is $100 cheaper than the the iphone 12 was.
