I don't think so, but Spotify does run this promotion multiple times a year.

I do it every year around this time, just create a new account and pay $0.99 for three month Spotify Premium, then when it's done back to pay 9.99 on my main account, or find a family shared account.

How similar are they in terms of quality? Spotify does 160 (free), 320 (Premium).

And is Google Play Music entirely single-oriented? I like how Spotify lets you see and play albums. I can't find them on GPM at all (not talking about buying them).

I think the paid quality is the same for both. And yes you can listen to albums on Google Play music.

Spotify Recommendation engine and Integration is top notch. There is no competition.
Google Play Music is good if you have your own music library (That you want to upload to the cloud). Also you can buy music from the play store (which gets added to your library as well).

I am currently trying out Tidal, its awful aside from the sound quality. Going back to Spotify once the trial is over.

Did you got through the same link as in the OP?
I'm on premium family and was hoping there would be a small discount for me. Nope.

Yes. Probably only for those with no active subscriptions.

Oh okay - I see what you meant now.
      Thanks!

Also for those on the fence about trying this out - I was converted after trying this out last time.
I previously had Google Play trial and found that I didn't use it that much at all - the UI was kinda odd to navigate through and they didn't seem to have a lot of what I looked for (old rock/blues/jazz).
I also tried listening to some playlists but the songs didn't really catch my attention.

Spotify works way better (IMO) and the collection is impressive. I've also discovered a whole bunch of new stuff through their daily discovery or weekly release lists - they seem to find or have music that I like.

I'm on family premium with my brother so it makes it a little more economical as well.
