    • Not a bad deal, OP. However, if you don't mind committing to a full year at that price (the 9.99 per 3 months), I'd suggest joining a group buy (family plan) with some family/friends/coworkers/people on RFD. Total cost (tax in) would be $35/year.

I'd 100% want to do that since my family enjoys Spotify. But I looked into it and apparently Spotify randomly reviews accounts to ensure people are listening from the same address as the subscriber. If the addresses differ (I don't live with my family), they cancel your account. I'm not sure of the technical way they track you down, but I've read about people who have been banned for buying "group" spotify accounts.

Thanks for the info but I'm trying to figure out where you get $35/year from. Is that per person on the family plan? Searching it up, I see $14.99/month for family plan for up to 6 people.

      It's per person, yes. $15 monthly * 12 months * 1.13 (Ontario tax) = $203.40. Divide it by 6 and you'll have $33.90 / year.

    • It appears there is no tax charged when I pay with Paypal. For Spotify, the only charges that appear are $14.99 for the family plan. Thats all I see for charges when I look at my Paypal account activity.

I’ve been in a family plan with rfders for almost 2 years now and there’s been no problems. The leader just used a university dorm as the address. Spotify would rather take some of your money than none at all.

    • hate when they do that... as a regular customer at $9.99/month, this promo is not available to me. 😈

    • Plan ahead!

If you want to be able to use this for the summer months, wait a little longer to purchase the 99c/month deal. I've done this for the past couple years. Wait until the start of June so you'll be able to enjoy in June/July/August and then the kids head back to school.

      :)

Try unsubscribing with "too expensive" as the reason and it might target you. I'm trying on my wifes account and i'll report back if it works.

    • Got the 99 cent deal. Thanks OP.

First time getting Spotify, I didn't realize how far behind the times I was. Been yelling at google to play spoitfy songs all day.

    • Did not work for me. Said I was not eligible. Tried on my iPhone as well as my desktop.
As an FYI - My 6 free months through Fido expired about 1 week ago.

Can't see why they would cancel the account... they can have my $15 a month or nothing at all if they want to cancel.
And if they accused me of usage not in the same house, mine and my "family" member's cell phones are all portable and where we listen to our Spotify.
I actually rarely listen to Spotify at my residence.
